20130048040 | WALKING AID WITH IRRITANT DISPENSER - A walking aid with irritant dispenser includes a shaft having upper and lower ends and defining a hollow chamber configured to contain an irritant. A compressed air cartridge is positioned in the shaft in fluid communication with the chamber. A trigger is operatively coupled to the air cartridge and configured to cause air to be released from the cartridge into the chamber when actuated. A piston situated in the chamber is movable between an upward configuration when the trigger is not actuated and a downward configuration when the trigger is actuated. The lower end of the shaft defines an outlet in fluid communication with the chamber through which the irritant is released when the piston is at the downward configuration. The chamber includes a predetermined amount of fluid pressure such that infusion of air from the compressed air cartridge increases the pressure and urges the piston toward the downward configuration. | 02-28-2013 |

20140114207 | Cognitive Management Method and System - A cognitive management method and system that monitors and manipulates a response signal from a neurological organ to optimize cognitive performance and behavioral management of the neurological organ. The method allows a user to transmit a stimulus signal such as optical or auditory to the organ and receive a return signal in response. A sensor, such as EEG electrodes detects the response signal. The response signal generated by the neurological organ is then detected by the sensor and transmitted to data storage. The signal can be reconfigured and retransmitted to a display device. The signal includes Hertz and real time frequencies. The signal includes a signal parameter with a high range and a low range. An alert actuates when the signal exceeds the parameter. The signal is monitored by the user and invited followers to analyze and treat cognitive performance and behavior. | 04-24-2014 |
20140171819 | Neurological Monitoring Method and System - A neurological monitoring method and system that allows a user to monitor a neurological organ while recovering from a neurological injury. The neurological monitoring method allows the user to recover from the injury, and an invited follower to map the neurological organ and study the neurological organ from a display device. The method includes sensing the organ with a sensor, such as EEG electrodes. A signal generated by the neurological organ is then recorded by the sensor and transmitted to data storage, including a cloud. The signal can be reconfigured and retransmitted to a display device. The signal includes Hertz and real time frequencies. The signal includes a signal parameter with a high range and a low range. An alert actuates when the signal exceeds the parameter. The signal is monitored by the user and invited followers for better understanding the condition of the neurological organ. | 06-19-2014 |

20140177673 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ESTIMATING FOULING FACTOR AND/OR INVERSE SOLUBLE SCALE THICKNESS IN HEAT TRANSFER EQUIPMENT - Scale deposition on a heat transfer surface in a liquid system such as a heat exchanger is estimated by directing of small portion of the liquid flow through a test cell, consisting of a sensor positioned on and projecting through a conduit wall. The sensor consists of a conductive block containing a heater and having a heated wetted test surface that is flush with the inside of the conduit wall and in contact with the flow through the conduit. Within the conductive block are two temperature sensors which are at different distances from the heated wetted test surface and the heater. The periphery of the apparatus is designed to reduce heat flow through the periphery and allow greater heat flow through the heated wetted test surface. By comparing the temperature differential between the two temperature sensors to the differential when no scale is present, the presence of and amount of scale can be determined, based on reduced heat transfer through the heated wetted surface caused by the accumulated scale. The change in the temperature differential is directly proportional to the scale thickness for a given type of scale. When the thickness of the scale is determined by another means, the nature of the scale can be implied. The sensitivity of the measurement can be adjusted to accommodate a very wide range of bulk liquid or ambient temperature via adjustment of the heat flux through the provided secondary heat flux path. | 06-26-2014 |

20130131846 | DISEASE THERAPY GAME TECHNOLOGY - A video game in possession of and/or in the proximity of a patient. The patient computing system receives an indication that it is to begin a game, and executes the game using identified game parameters that are associated with the patient by a clinician as part of a disease therapy program. As the game executes, game state progresses in response to physical activity of the patient, causing the patient to exercise. The physical activity is received as input into the patient computing system. Such input causes game state to be progressed dependent on the identified game parameters that are associated with the game. Thus, the game is tailored for the patient by a clinician in order to motivate physical activity that is medically beneficial to the patient in order to advance through the disease therapy program. | 05-23-2013 |

20120095463 | FRACTURE FIXATION SYSTEMS - Systems for bone fracture repair are disclosed. One system includes a biocompatible putty that may be packed about a bone fracture to provide full loadbearing capabilities within days. The disclosed putties create an osteoconductive scaffold for bone regeneration and degrade over time to harmless resorbable byproducts. Fixation devices for contacting an endosteal wall of an intramedullary (IM) canal of a fractured bone are also disclosed. One such fixation device includes a woven elongated structure fabricated from resorbable polymer filaments. The woven elongated structure has resilient properties that allow the woven structure to be radially compressed and delivered to the IM canal using an insertion tube. When the insertion tube is removed, the woven structure expands towards its relaxed cross-sectional width to engage the endosteal wall. The woven elongated structure is impregnated with a resorbable polymer resin that cures in situ, or in the IM canal. | 04-19-2012 |
