20150082324 | Efficient Interrupt Handling - A mechanism is provided for handling interrupt actions for inter-thread communication. In association with a first processor thread, a thread action data structure is provided that comprises a non-blocking synchronization data structure and an internal list data structure of pending interrupts having no form of synchronization. A post of an interrupt action is received from a second processor thread to the thread action data structure associated with the first processor thread, where the interrupt action is added to the non-blocking synchronization data structure of the thread action data structure. The interrupt action is moved from the non-blocking synchronization data structure to the internal list data structure of pending interrupts for handling by the first processor thread. The internal list data structure of pending interrupts is processed to thereby handle interrupt actions moved to the internal list data structure. | 03-19-2015 |
20150121029 | MEMORY MANAGEMENT WITH PRIORITY-BASED MEMORY RECLAMATION - A memory buffer with a set of one or more structures is created by a process of a first software program. The first memory buffer comprises a predetermined amount of memory. It is determined that a structure of the set of one or more structures has been or will be consumed by a second software program that supports the first software program. The consumption of the structure of the set of one or more structures indicates that memory associated with the structure of the set of one or more structures is being reclaimed. In response to the determination that the structure of the set of one or more structures has been or will be consumed, data is written from a first location to a second location. The first location is in memory allocated to the first software program and the second location is indicated for data storage. | 04-30-2015 |

20110087946 | LOW COMPLEXITY FINITE PRECISION DECODERS AND APPARATUS FOR LDPC CODES - In this invention, a new class of finite precision multilevel decoders for low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes is presented. These decoders are much lower in complexity compared to the standard belief propagation (BP) decoder. Messages utilized by these decoders are quantized to certain levels based on the number of bits allowed for representation in hardware. A message update function specifically defined as part of the invention, is used to determine the outgoing message at the variable node, and the simple min operation along with modulo 2 sum of signs is used at the check node. A general methodology is provided to obtain the multilevel decoders, which is based on reducing failures due to trapping sets and improving the guaranteed error-correction capability of a code. Hence these decoders improve the iterative decoding process on finite length graphs and have the potential to outperform the standard floating-point BP decoder in the error floor region. The description and apparatus of 3-bit decoders for column-weight three LDPC codes is also presented. | 04-14-2011 |

20110004811 | Encoding/decoding apparatus and method - An encoder and a decoder employ an encoding scheme corresponding to a parity check matrix which is derivable from a bipartite protograph formed of variable nodes and check nodes, with each variable node corresponding to a codeword symbol position. The protograph has a plurality of groups of nodes, each group of nodes comprising both variable nodes and check nodes. Each of the check nodes in a group is of degree 2 and has connections to two variable nodes in the same group. The protograph also has a plurality of check nodes of degree n, where n is the number of said plurality of groups, wherein each of the plurality of check nodes has a connection to a variable node in each group such that the symbol positions in a codeword are interleaved between the groups of nodes. | 01-06-2011 |

20100040696 | Composite Particles Having An Antioxidant-Based Protective System, And Topical Compositions Comprising The Same - The present invention relates to topical compositions containing a dispersion of composite particles. Each of such composite particles contains one or more core particles encapsulated or entrapped in a polymeric shell. At least some of the core particles are formed of a material capable of causing generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Each of the composite particles further contains: (1) a first antioxidant co-encapsulated or co-entrapped with the core particles inside the polymeric shell for quenching or scavenging ROS generated in the vicinity of the core particles, and (2) a second antioxidant coated over the polymeric shell for preventing or reducing oxidative damage to the skin, such as lipid peroxidation. The particle dispersion of the present invention therefore can be readily formulated into topical sunscreen compositions with organic sunscreen agents susceptible to oxidative decomposition or degradation to provide improved protection against skin damage caused by exposure to UV light. | 02-18-2010 |
