20140033919 | Methods of Removing Contaminants from Hydrocarbon Stream by Swing Adsorption and Related Apparatus and Systems - A pressure swing adsorption process for removal of C02 from natural gas streams through a combination of a selective adsorbent material containing an effective amount of a non-adsorbent filler, adsorbent contactor design, and adsorption cycle design. The removal of contaminants from gas streams, preferably natural gas streams, using rapid-cycle swing adsorption processes, such as rapid-cycle pressure swing adsorption (RC-PSA). Separations at high pressure with high product recovery and/or high product purity are provided through a combination of judicious choices of adsorbent material, gas-solid contactor, system configuration, and cycle designs. For example, cycle designs that include steps of purge and staged blow-down as well as the inclusion of a mesopore filler in the adsorbent material significantly improves product (e.g., methane) recovery. An RC-PSA product with less than 10 ppm H2S can be produced from a natural gas feed stream that contains less than 1 mole percent H2S. | 02-06-2014 |
20140208797 | Natural Gas Liquefaction Process - A gas processing facility for the liquefaction of a natural gas feed stream is provided. The facility comprises a gas separation unit having at least one fractionation vessel. The gas separation unit employs adsorbent beds for adsorptive kinetic separation. The adsorbent beds release a methane-rich gas feed stream. The facility also includes a high-pressure expander cycle refrigeration system. The refrigeration system compresses the methane-rich gas feed stream to a pressure greater than about 1,000 psia. The refrigeration system also chills the methane-rich gas feed stream in one or more coolers, and then expands the chilled gas feed stream to form a liquefied product stream. Processes for liquefying a natural gas feed stream using AKS and a high-pressure expander cycle refrigeration system are also provided herein. Such processes allow for the formation of LNG using a facility having less weight than conventional facilities. | 07-31-2014 |

20140298762 | Nano Filter Pump - A class of devices using nanotubes and nano-shapes which can partially organize molecules in random motion to move either some selectively or all of them, to create pressure differences and hence motive forces, or cause air flow into pressurized area. Because Air is a cloud of particles separated by vacuum, the device in air can be used to create motive force pushing any form of vehicle, lifting force for any form of air vehicle, air compression, power source for any form of machine, conveyor or generator, using the solar energy stored in the air in the form of heat, 24 hours a day, worldwide. | 10-09-2014 |
20140298847 | Low Energy Air Cooler-Heater - A set of devices that use pressure envelope (atmosphere) to leverage creating small volume changes with small amount of work to create larger heat energy temperature differences. Piston and turbine based devices using the same principles of exchanging heat for work allow production of temperature change proportional to volume times air pressure, while consuming less power, only the power required to deflect the piston from its point of equilibrium (volume times pressure increase or decrease) or the equivalent effect with a turbine. The devices can be configured for refrigeration and heating. All of the devices allow for improved efficiency, less sensitive to temperature differences between interior and exterior, costs less to manufacture, and consume less than half the energy a Freon/compressor/condenser/evaporator based air conditioner/heat pump. | 10-09-2014 |
20150192333 | Energy Recycling Heat Pump - A set of devices that can leverage creating small volume changes with small amount of work to create larger heat energy temperature differences, recycle a portion of the compression energy equal to approximately the ratio of the absolute temperature of the cooled space to the heated space, and recycle the heat energy to reduce or eliminate the effect of the temperature gap between the cooled space and heated space. Piston, rotary and turbine based devices are disclosed to achieve the recycled compression energy, for systems designed with single phase vapor or air working fluids. System configuration with counterflow heat exchanger disclosed to recycle the energy needed to cross the temperature gap, applicable both to air/vapor systems and to Freon/refrigerant 2 phase systems. Resulting single phase systems can operate over entire temperature range of Earth's surface and are not limited to constrained temperature range of refrigerant phase change. | 07-09-2015 |
