20130168124 | Busway for High Voltage, High Current Applications - A busway for high voltage, high current applications in which connections can be made at arbitrary distance and spacing along its length is made with an insert that is a continuous semi-rigid insulator with continuous conductors installed in it. The busway is fabricated with an insert that is a long flat insulating strip with conductors installed in it, up to hundreds of feet if desired, and rolled up for shipment and handling. When installed, shell segments are installed end-to-end, then the insert is unrolled, folded into an inverted “U” shape, then installed in the shell segments as a continuous insulator and conductor. The inverted “U” shape tends to repel moisture that may enter from the top, and no segment-to-segment connectors are needed. | 07-04-2013 |
20150260429 | Heater comprising a co-located linear regulator and heating elements - Linear regulators are inexpensive and provide excellent control with a very fast frequency response while avoiding many of the problems of pulse-width-modulated (pwm) regulators. However, they are seldom used due to their very poor efficiency. Not only do the losses in the regulator reduce the efficiency, resulting in higher energy costs, the heat in the controller is a significant problem. By co-locating the linear regulator with the heater, immersed in the medium to be heated, the losses of the linear regulator contribute to the heat to the medium, and net efficiency is nearly 100 percent. It is not necessary to co-locate the entire control, as the high dissipation likely is limited to the power transistors and only they need to be co-located with the load. | 09-17-2015 |
20150326132 | Symmetrical Power Converter - A switched-capacitor circuit has two capacitors and two MOSFETs that cross-couple the capacitors, connecting the anode of one to the cathode of the other, and vice-versa. When either MOSFET is on, the capacitors are in series; the order alternates as the MOSFETs alternate. A reversing cyclical voltage suitable as a primary drive for a transformer is generated. If the MOSFETs alternate with no dead-time, a square-wave excitation is generated. With off-time, a pwm excitation is generate. Charge is maintained on the switched-capacitors using a symmetrical common-mode inductor. A bifilar winding is center-tap as its input, and the ends of the bifilar winding are connected to the capacitors. The capacitors are effectively in parallel. Because the charging current flows and returns through each leg of the inductor equally, it cannot magnetize the inductor core or cause any flux change. Because any voltages induced in the windings are common-mode, flux change in the core does not affect the charging current. The ac voltage generated when the capacitors switch is across the full inductor. Not only does the inductance attenuate any noise, the center-tap is between equal and opposite negative and positive voltages, which cancel. There is very little noise at the input. The circuit is reciprocal, so it can be used to rectify a transformer output. Two can be used as a bi-directional transformer isolated power converter. Several modules using 1 to 1 transformers can be stacked for a power converter having a higher ratio of input to output voltage. | 11-12-2015 |
20150366067 | Peripherally Mounted Components in Embedded Circuits - Semiconductor die and other components can be mounted in printed circuit boards with a binding agent at their periphery. This leaves both surfaces exposed for subsequent processing, usually over-plating with copper that is then etched to define a conductor pattern, just as in printed circuit manufacture. Methods using the surface tension of liquids for precise component placement in three dimensions (3-D) are shown. Optionally, micro-conductors can be used for the connections to the die, for reduced apparent resistance at high frequencies. The micro-channels between the micro-conductors can be a wick for liquid for evaporative cooling at the semiconductor surface as part of a heat pipe circuit. | 12-17-2015 |

As one example, a method comprises forming one or more images within a sheeting having a surface of microlenses, wherein at least one of the images is a partially complete image, and wherein each of the images is associated with a different one of the microlenses, wherein the microlenses have refractive surfaces that transmit light to positions within the sheeting to produce a plurality of composite images from the images formed within the sheeting so that each of the composite images appears to float with respect to the plane of the sheeting, and wherein forming the one or more images comprises forming the one or more images such that each of the composite images is associated with a different viewing angle range. | 07-22-2010 |
20130202200 | COMPUTER-AIDED ASSIGNMENT OF RATINGS TO DIGITAL SAMPLES OF A MANUFACTURED WEB PRODUCT - A computerized rating tool is described that assists a user in efficiently and consistently assigning expert ratings (i.e., labels) to a large collection of training images representing samples of a given product. The rating tool provides mechanisms for visualizing the training images in an intuitive and configurable fashion, including clustering and ordering the training images. In some embodiments, the rating tool provides an easy-to-use interface for exploring multiple types of defects represented in the data and efficiently assigning expert ratings. In other embodiments, the computer automatically assigns ratings (i.e., labels) to the individual clusters containing the large collection of digital images representing the samples. In addition, the computerized tool has capabilities ideal for labeling very large datasets, including the ability to automatically identify and select a most relevant subset of the images for a defect and to automatically propagate labels from this subset to the remaining images without requiring further user interaction. | 08-08-2013 |
20130320994 | ELECTRODE TESTING APPARATUS - An apparatus to infer the resistivity of an electrode by stimulating the electrode with a capacitively coupled signal, and processing the resultant signal with circuitry that produces a signal having an amplitude that is a function of the resistivity of the electrode. | 12-05-2013 |

20090276024 | SELF EXPANDING ELECTRODE CUFF - An expandable electrode cuff of an implantable stimulation system that includes a base member, a first flange member extending from a proximal end along a first side wall of the base member to a first distal end, and a second flange member extending from a proximal end along a second side wall of the base member to a second distal end. The first flange member extends over both a top wall of the base member and the second flange member, and the second flange member extends over the top wall to form a lumen. The electrode cuff is capable of being advanced between a first position corresponding to both flange members extending over the top wall, a second position corresponding to the first flange member not extending over the top wall and the second flange member extending over the top wall, and a third position corresponding to both of the flange members not extending over the top wall. | 11-05-2009 |
20110147046 | SELF EXPANDING ELECTRODE CUFF - An electrode lead assembly is described. The lead assembly includes an expandable cuff electrode that includes a series of spaced apart electrode elements and a substantially re-closable opening. | 06-23-2011 |
20110160827 | ELECTRODE LEAD SYSTEM - An electrode lead assembly includes a cuff electrode, a first lead portion and an anchor with the first lead portion having a length and a shape configured to provide strain relief on a nerve, on the cuff electrode, or on the first lead portion. | 06-30-2011 |

20090264212 | TRAINING BALLS FOR POOL AND THE LIKE - A training ball for pool type games. The training ball may comprise an array of visually coded bounded shapes disposed on the spherical exterior surface, wherein each one visually coded bounded shape has a characteristic visual coding such as color, and a diametrically opposed corresponding visually coded bounded shape having substantially identical characteristic visual coding, and wherein the array covers substantially all of the spherical exterior surface of the solid sphere. All of the visually coded bounded shapes display characteristic visual coding which is easily visually discernible from each adjacent one of the visually coded bounded shapes. In an associated method of play or practice, a player may visually hypothesize a straight line passing through the center of the training ball using the opposed similar visually coded bounded shapes, mentally set up a shot, and then execute that shot. | 10-22-2009 |
