20100261776 | BRUTON'S TYROSINE KINASE AS ANTI-CANCER DRUG TARGET - Receptor protein tyrosine kinases (RPTKs) transmit extracellular signals across the plasma membrane to cytosolic proteins, stimulating the formation of complexes that regulate key cellular functions. Over half of the 90 tyrosine kinases have been implicated in human cancers and are for this reason considered highly promising drug targets. To gain insight into the tyrosine kinases that contribute to breast cancer related cellular mechanisms, we carried out a large-scale loss-of-function analysis of the tyrosine kinases, using RNA interference, in the clinically relevant Erb-B2 positive, BT474 breast cancer cell line. The cytosolic, non-receptor tyrosine kinase Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK), which has been extensively studied for its role in B cell development, was among those tyrosine kinase genes required for BT474 breast cancer cell survival. The BTK protein identified was an alternative form containing an amino-terminal extension. This alternative form of the Btk message is also present in tumorigenic breast cells at significantly higher levels than in normal breast cells. | 10-14-2010 |
20120165395 | Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase As Anti-Cancer Drug Target - Receptor protein tyrosine kinases (RPTKs) transmit extracellular signals across the plasma membrane to cytosolic proteins, stimulating formation of complexes that regulate key cellular functions. Over half of the known tyrosine kinases are implicated in human cancers and are therefore highly promising drug targets. A large-scale loss-of-function analysis of the tyrosine kinases using RNA interference in the clinically relevant Erb-B2 positive, BT474 breast cancer cell line showed that Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK), a cytosolic, non-receptor tyrosine kinase that has been extensively studied for its role in B cell development, is required, in altered form, for BT474 breast cancer cell survival. This alternative form contains an amino-terminal extension that is also present in tumorigenic breast cells at significantly higher levels than in normal breast cells. | 06-28-2012 |

20090150720 | ERROR DETECTOR IN A CACHE MEMORY USING CONFIGURABLE WAY REDUNDANCY - A data processing system includes a processor having a multi-way cache which has a first and a second way. The second way is configurable to either be redundant to the first way or to operate as an associative way independent of the first way. The system may further include a memory, where the processor, in response to a read address missing in the cache, provides the read address to the memory. The second way may be dynamically configured to be redundant to the first way during operation of the processor in response to an error detection signal. In one aspect, when the second way is configured to be redundant, in response to the read address hitting in the cache, data addressed by an index portion of the read address is provided from both the first and second way and compared to each other to determine if a comparison error exists. | 06-11-2009 |
20100318761 | PROCESSOR AND METHOD FOR DYNAMIC AND SELECTIVE ALTERATION OF ADDRESS TRANSLATION - Non-intrusive techniques have been developed to dynamically and selectively alter address translations performed by, or for, a processor. For example, in some embodiments, a memory management unit is configured to map from effective addresses in respective effective (or virtual) address spaces to physical addresses in the memory, wherein the mappings performed by the memory management unit are based on address translation entries of an address translation table. For a subset of less than all processes, entry selection logic selects from amongst plural alternative mappings coded in respective ones of the address translation entries. For at least some effective addresses mapped for a particular process of the subset, selection of a particular address translation entry is based on an externally sourced value. In some embodiments, only a subset of effective addresses mapped for the particular process are subject to dynamic runtime alteration of the address translation entry selection. | 12-16-2010 |
20110167198 | NON-VOLATILE STORAGE ALTERATION TRACKING - A method for tracking alteration of a non-volatile storage includes receiving a request to modify a tracked region of the non-volatile storage. In response to the request, it is determined whether or not a modification of data stored in a non-erasable one-time programmable (NEOTP) alteration log region has occurred. In response to determining that the modification of the data stored in the NEOTP alteration log region has occurred, the tracked region of non-volatile storage is modified in response to the request. In response to determining that the modification of the data stored in the NEOTP alteration log region has not occurred, the request to modify the tracked region of the non-volatile memory is denied. | 07-07-2011 |
20130343133 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SOFT ERROR DETECTION IN MEMORY DEVICES - A system for detecting soft errors in a memory device includes a latch, a master flip-flop and a slave flip-flop. The latch receives input data (control and/or address signals) at the beginning of a memory operation in response to a rising edge of a first clock signal. The output of the latch is provided to the master flip-flop. The master flip-flop continuously receives and stores the latch output during the memory operation based on a second clock signal. The slave flip-flop receives and stores the output of the master flip-flop at the end of the memory operation based on the second clock signal. A comparator compares the input data with the output of the slave flip-flop to detect soft errors that occur during the memory operation. | 12-26-2013 |

The removable tow device and receiver are simple to use, requiring a minimal of manipulation to install. Installation is reduced to insert, twist, and release. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. 20140090497 | SPRING LOADED SHAFT ASSEMBLY - A disconnect shaft arrangement interposes a biasing element between a shoulder formed on the disconnect shaft and a cup-shaped washer, in which the cup-shaped washer is sized and configured to be axially displaceable with respect to the disconnect shaft. The cup-shaped washer selectively engages an axially fixed adjacent structure, such as a thrust washer, during disengagement of the disconnect shaft and attendant spring compression. The present disconnect shaft arrangement obviates the need for a retaining ring against which the spring compresses, such that the relatively deep retaining ring groove needed for such a retaining ring need not be cut into the outer surface of the disconnect shaft. Removal of material in the outer surface of the shaft is therefore minimized, such that the torque transmission capability of the shaft is maximized. | 04-03-2014 |
