20150178012 | COMPLEX PARTITIONING OF STORAGE LIBRARY RESOURCES - Systems and methods are described for logical partitioning of library resources (e.g., storage media resources and/or media drive resources in storage libraries) across a complex of multiple, physically distinct, but logically interconnected data storage libraries. For example, a user selects complex-wide resources to add to one or more library partitions via a graphical user interface displayed on a local console of one of the storage library systems. The partitions can be validated and converted into a partition definition. In some implementations, the partition definition is redundantly stored as a predefined short format in local storage of some or all the storage library systems in the complex. This can minimize the resources used to store the partition definition, provide redundancy for added configuration options and/or in case of certain failures, speed up processing of resource queries, and/or provide other features. | 06-25-2015 |

20140359395 | PROTECTION OF DATA IN MEMORY - A method for protecting data in a memory is disclosed. The method generally includes steps (A) to (D). Step (A) converts a logical address of one of a plurality of logical units to a physical address of a corresponding one of a plurality of physical units. Each physical unit is configured to store (i) data from a corresponding one of the logical units, (ii) respective error correction information and (iii) respective verification information. Step (B) writes a particular one of the physical units to the memory. Step (C) reads a portion of the particular physical unit from the memory. The portion includes the respective verification information. The respective verification information includes an indication of the logical address. Step (D) verifies the writing according to the respective verification information in the portion. | 12-04-2014 |

20130330055 | Apparatus, System, and Method for Annotation of Media Files with Sensor Data - Embodiments of methods for multimedia annotation with sensor data (referred to herein as Sensor-rich video) includes acquisition, management, storage, indexing, transmission, search, and display of video, images, or sound, that has been recorded in conjunction with additional sensor information (such as, but not limited to, global positioning system information (latitude, longitude, altitude), compass directions, WiFi fingerprints, ambient lighting conditions, etc.). The collection of sensor information is acquired on a continuous basis during recording. For example, the GPS information may be continuously acquired from a corresponding sensor at every second during the recording of a video. Therefore, the acquisition apparatus generates a continuous stream of video frames and a continuous stream of sensor meta-data values. The two streams are correlated in that every video frame is associated with a set of sensor values. Note that the sampling frequency (i.e., the frequency at which sensor values can be measured) is dependent on the type of sensor. For example, a GPS sensor may be sampled at 1-second intervals while a compass sensor may be sampled at 50 millisecond intervals. Video is also sampled at a specific rate, such as 25 or 30 frames per second. Sensor data are associated with each frame. If sensor data has not changed from the previous frame (due to a low sampling rate) then the previously measured data values are used. The resulting combination of a video and a sensor stream is called a sensor-rich video. | 12-12-2013 |

20120284143 | PROXIMITY BASED ONLINE MARKETPLACE - A online marketplace that can connect nearby buyers and sellers in a time-sensitive and efficient manner. The system can enable users who want something to connect with nearby users who can provide that something by utilizing automatically detected location data from the users' computing devices. The system can allow both buyers and sellers to post listings, and can also allow listings to define multiple quantities of an item or service and allow multiple offers to be made and accepted on such listings via an auction mechanism. The system can improve the efficiency with which buyers and sellers can quickly find each other by not allowing users to submit offers on listings with price changes that degrade the listing. The system can also improve the efficiency with which buyers and sellers complete their transaction by facilitating a peer-to-peer payment process with dispute resolution controls. | 11-08-2012 |
