20090102666 | MERCHANDISE TAG WITH ALARMING FEATURES FOR SECURING TAG TO MERCHANDISE - A security device for a product for sale. The device includes a housing having a cable for engaging the product. A free end of the cable has a locking pin receivable within a bore in the housing. A locking mechanism is provided to lock the locking pin within the bore. The mechanism includes a slider and a clamping member. When the slider moves away from the clamping member, the locking pin is clamped in the bore. When the slider moves toward the clamping member, the member disengages the locking pin which may then be withdrawn from the bore. The locking mechanism further includes a magnetic spring clip that prevents the slider from being moved toward the clamping member. The spring clip is only deactivateable by a complementary magnetic key. | 04-23-2009 |
20090303046 | CABLE LOCK CLOSURE WITH DEFEAT PREVENTION - A security device for attachment to an article to deter theft of the article has a housing containing an alarm system including an audible alarm with a defeat mechanism having a two-part connector that attaches to both a cable and a locking mechanism. The connector includes a mechanical fuse (e.g., two-step ferrule holder) that provides defeat prevention of the alarm device. The locked device alarms if pulled too hard from twisting the cable without releasing the primary lock. The connector is preferably shaped as a generally elliptic cylindrical bayonet having an oval transverse cross-section and a truncated oblique cone-shaped distal end. This enables the plug to be inserted into a locking channel of the locking mechanism in either of two directions facilitating the locking of the attached cable about an article of merchandise. Moreover, the oval shape takes up less space than a round bayonet while providing greater strength through longer latch engagement area on the wider side of the bayonet, especially as opposed to a circular cross-section bayonet. | 12-10-2009 |
20110102179 | ADJUSTABLE DUAL LOOP CABLE SECURITY DEVICE - Various embodiments of the invention may be directed to a security device comprising a housing, a rotatable assembly, a locking assembly, and a cable. The rotatable assembly may include a plurality of locking teeth, a spool, and an engagement portion configured to facilitate rotation the rotatable assembly. The locking assembly may include biasing elements configured to apply a biasing force so that the locking assembly and the rotatable assembly may be configured in a locked position. Further, the locking assembly may include magnetically attractive elements configured to counteract the biasing force when a specifically configured key is applied to the housing of the security device. The security device may further include a security element, an alarm, and other components. | 05-05-2011 |
