20100004549 | SYSTEM AND METHOD OF SERIAL COMPARISON FOR DETECTION OF LONG QT SYNDROME (LQTS) - The present disclosure includes a system and method of detecting LQTS in a patient by comparing a collected set of ECG data from the patient to a plurality of databases of collected ECG data. The plurality of databases will include a database containing previous ECGs from the patient, a known acquired LQTS characteristics database, and a known genetic LQTS characteristics database. Comparing the patients ECG to these databases will facilitate the detection of such occurrences as changes in QT interval from success of ECGs, changes in T-wave morphology, changes in U-wave morphology and can match known genetic patterns of LQTS. The system and method is sensitive to patient gender and ethnicity, as these factors have been shown to effect LQTS, and is furthermore capable of matching a QT duration to a database of drug effects. The system and method is also easily integrated into current ECG management systems and storage devices. | 01-07-2010 |

The method for conveying information includes providing a drug data bar code having drug data, transferring the drug data bar code to a patient, providing a bar code reader adapted to read the drug data bar code, and implementing the bar code reader to read the drug data bar code and thereby obtain the drug data such that the drug data can be accounted for in a subsequently performed medical procedure. A corresponding system is also provided. | 08-28-2008 |
20090216139 | METHOD FOR COLLECTING AND ASSIGNING PATIENT DATA IN A CLINICAL TRIAL - A method for assigning an ECG for purposes of conducting a clinical trial is disclosed herein. The method includes assigning an ECG to a primary reader, selectively reassigning the ECG to the primary reader, and selectively assigning the ECG to a secondary reader. The method also includes automating the assignment of the ECG to a primary reader, automating the selective reassignment of the ECG to the primary reader, and/or automating the selective assignment of the ECG to a secondary reader in order to minimize manual labor requirements. | 08-27-2009 |
20100076295 | ELECTRODE SET FOR A PATIENT MONITORING DEVICE - An electrode set is disclosed herein. The electrode set includes a base comprising an insulating material, and a plurality of electrodes disposed on the base. The electrodes comprise a generally exposed conductive material. The electrode set also includes a plurality of conductors disposed on the base. The conductors comprise a generally insulated conductive material, and are each connected to one of the electrodes. The electrodes are positioned on the base relative to each other so that they can be collectively placed on specific portions of a patient's anatomy. | 03-25-2010 |
20100145159 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONFIGURING A MONITORING DEVICE - A method for configuring monitoring devices in a clinical study is disclosed herein. The method includes inputting configuration data into a configuration apparatus, providing a plurality of patient monitoring devices adapted for use in a clinical study, and connecting each of the plurality of patient monitoring devices to the configuration apparatus. The method also includes automatically transmitting the configuration data from the configuration apparatus to each of the plurality of patient monitoring devices such that each of the plurality of patient monitoring devices is generally identically configured in a manner that minimizes labor requirements. | 06-10-2010 |

20080276891 | Power equipment apparatus having engine with electric starter motor and manual starter mechanism - A power equipment apparatus includes an engine, an electric starter motor, a manual starter mechanism, a temperature sensor, and a starter switch. The temperature sensor is operatively coupled with the engine and is configured to generate a temperature signal reflecting a temperature of a portion of the engine. The starter switch is configured to selectively facilitate passage of electrical power to the electric starter motor for actuation of the electric starter motor only when both the starter switch is actuated and the temperature exceeds a predetermined temperature. | 11-13-2008 |
20090198411 | ELECTRONIC STEERING DAMPER SYSTEMS AND VEHICLES INCLUDING SAME - An electronic steering damper system is provided for a vehicle. The electronic steering damper system can be supported with respect to the vehicle's frame and can selectively impose resistance to steering of one or more of the vehicle's wheels in response to a vehicle condition signal received from a sensor such as, for example, a vehicle speed sensor. An actuator connected with the electronic steering damper system can be configured for use by an operator to adjust the manner in which the electronic steering damper system selectively imposes resistance to steering of the wheel(s) in response to the vehicle condition signal. Vehicles including an electronic steering damper system are also provided. | 08-06-2009 |
20090250893 | Steering Dampers And Vehicles Including Same - A steering damper includes a cylinder housing, a piston, a piston rod, and a valve member. The cylinder housing includes an inner surface and the inner surface defines an inner area. The piston is at least partially disposed within the inner area and is movably engaged with the inner surface of the cylinder housing. The piston and the inner surface of the cylinder housing cooperate to define a first chamber and a second chamber disposed upon opposite sides of the piston. The piston rod is attached to the piston. At least one of the piston and the piston rod at least partially defines a passageway extending between the first chamber and the second chamber. The valve member is associated with the passageway and is movable to adjust restriction of fluid flow through the passageway between the first chamber and the second chamber. A vehicle is also provided. | 10-08-2009 |

20110240940 | FENCE SLAT - A fence slat is provided that can be inserted in the channels of a wire mesh fence. The body of the slat defines, in a cross-section cut perpendicular to the long axis of the slat, a substantially hourglass shape having a central narrowed portion between a pair of wider portions. The slat body includes front and back walls and side edges with an internal cavity within. The front and back walls have concave outer surfaces and the edges may be rounded or squared. One or more ribs within the internal cavity of the slat body interconnect the front wall and the back wall. The hourglass shape provides a narrower central portion for the slat body as compared to the width at the edges and the ribs, when positioned in or nearer the central portion are narrower than the width at the edges. The wider edges provide sufficient width to be held frictionally within the wire mesh channel, while the narrower ribs require less material than would be necessary for a uniform width. | 10-06-2011 |
