20140044470 | Writing Device - An apparatus comprises a writing device and an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a headphone socket and the writing device is elongate and comprises first and second ends. The first end is shaped to be received by and releasably retained in the headphone socket of the electronic device. The second end is shaped to allow a user to withdraw the writing device from the headphone socket of the electronic device when the first end is retained in the headphone socket. In a first, housed configuration the first end is releasably retained in the headphone socket and the second end is exposed remote from the electronic device. In a second, writable configuration the second end is releasably retained in the headphone socket and the first end is exposed remote from the electronic device to enable the writing device, in combination with the electronic device, to be used to write with. | 02-13-2014 |

20090030915 | System and method for determining driving factor in a data cube - Method and system for determining a driving factor for a data value of interest in a multidimensional database, by collecting a context for the data value of interest in the multidimensional database. The data value of interest has dimensional levels with dimensional members outside the drill path of the data value of interest. The dimensional levels are enumerated in a list. A query using the dimensional members of the dimensional level is executed. A variance is calculated for the set of query results. A driving factor for the data value of interest is determined based on the variance. The driving factor is added to the context of the data value of interest. | 01-29-2009 |
20090089240 | METHOD AND SYSTEM TO SEGMENT AN OLAP SET - A segmentation management system manages segmentation of a set of members in a multi-dimensionally modeled data source. The segmentation management system comprises a segment definition manager, a segmentation engine and a segment application manager. The segment definition manager manages definitions of identifiable non-overlapping segments for a given base set of members in a multi-dimensionally modeled data source. The segmentation engine divides the base set of members into the segments based on the definitions of the segments. The segment application manager allows the segments to be used as objects. | 04-02-2009 |
20090119309 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ANALYZING DATA IN A REPORT - A method and a system for analyzing a data value of interest in a multidimensional database. The data value of interest is first identified in a structured report. The data source for the structured report is retrieved. A context for the data value of interest in the data source is collected, for example, by extracting a slicer from the structured report, by extracting members of master-detail pages, or by extracting a default measure from the structured report. An analysis specification based on the collected context is then built, and the data value of interest is analyzed using the analysis specification. The result from analyzing the data value of interest may be presented in an analysis view. | 05-07-2009 |

20140191746 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR LOCALISATION ON A DC LIGHTING AND POWER GRID - The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus for locating luminaires within a lighting system where multiple luminaires are located on a grid of DC power rails. The AC signal generator connects to each DC power rail and transmits an AC signal along each DC power rail in turn to luminaires that each compute their distance from the generator based upon the AC signal. The AC signal generator may similarly transmit and receive data communications with luminaires across DC power rails. | 07-10-2014 |

20110022992 | METHOD FOR MODIFYING A REPRESENTATION BASED UPON A USER INSTRUCTION - The invention relates to a method for modifying a representation based upon a user instruction and a system for producing a modified representation by said method. Conventional drawing systems, such as pen and paper and writing tablets, require a reasonable degree of drawing skill which not all users possess. Additionally, these conventional systems produce static drawings. The method of the invention comprises receiving a representation from a first user, associating the representation with an input object classification, receiving an instruction from a second user, associating the instruction with an animation classification, determining a modification of the representation using the input object classification and the animation classification, and modifying the representation using the modification. When the first user provides a representation of something, for example a character in a story, it is identified to a certain degree by associating it with an object classification. In other words, the best possible match is determined. As the second user imagines a story involving the representation, dynamic elements of the story are exhibited in one or more communication forms such as writing, speech, gestures, facial expressions. By deriving an instruction from these signals, the representation may be modified, or animated, to illustrate the dynamic element in the story. This improves the feedback to the users, and increases the enjoyment of the users. | 01-27-2011 |
20120232360 | FITNESS TEST SYSTEM - The present invention relates to a fitness test system for determining a fitness test result indicative of a user's fitness, for a plurality of components of physical fitness such as endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, and body composition. The fitness test system comprises a computing module ( | 09-13-2012 |
