20130335627 | CUSTOMIZATION OF MULTIMEDIA - Disclosed are methods and apparatus for processing video content. The method comprises receiving the video content, processing the received video content, and providing, for display on a client device (e.g., a television, computer display, etc.), the processed video content. The processing of the video content uses one or more rules, each of which specifies one or more conditions and one or more actions. Each condition is a criterion for an attribute of the video content. Each action is a transformation of the video content that transforms the values of one or more attributes of the video content. The processing of the video content comprises, for each rule, determining whether the received video content satisfies each of the one or more conditions specified by that rule, and, if it does, performing, on the received video content, each of the actions specified by that rule. | 12-19-2013 |

20100297635 | COLLECTION AND MEASUREMENT OF EXHALED PARTICLES - Particles are exhaled in the breath of animals. The nature and amounts of the particles can be indicative of certain medical conditions. They can therefore be collected, sorted according to size or mass and used in the diagnosis of one or more medical conditions. The invention provides a method and system for collecting and sorting exhaled particles and a method for diagnosis using said exhaled particles. | 11-25-2010 |

20100106222 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INITIATING COMMUNICATION BETWEEN A HOME MONITORING DEVICE AND AN IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE - In a method and system for establishing a wireless communication session between an implantable medical device IMD and a home monitoring device, the home monitoring device frequently sends communication-initiating signals to an IMD arranged within the body of a patient for establishing a communication session between the monitoring device and the IMD. In order to save energy, RF telemetry circuitry of the IMD is normally set in a low-power, idle mode. Occasionally, the RF circuitry will leave the low-power mode and enter an active mode in which it is able to detect a communication-initiating signal transmitted by the monitoring device. When a communication-initiating signal is detected, the IMD will respond accordingly to the monitoring device and a communication session will be established. In the present invention, the telemetry circuitry of the IMD will be controlled to wake up from low-power mode and enter an active detection mode independently of the transmission of the communication-initiating signals from the monitoring device. Hence, the external monitoring device will frequently transmit communication-initiating signals, but the IMD will only detect a wakeup signal when leaving its low-power mode and entering active mode at a predetermined instant of time. | 04-29-2010 |

20100049272 | IDENTIFICATION OF AN IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE BY CORRELATING CARDIAC RELATED DATA - In a method and system for identifying an implantable medical device (IMD), which is arranged to be disposed in a body, by conducting a telemetry communication session between the implantable medical device and an external programmer device, cardiac data are registered from a point on the body of a patient having an IMD with which a communication session is to be established. The registered cardiac data are compared with one or more sets of intracardiac data pertaining to patients having an IMD implanted and to identify the IMD with which the communication session is to be conducted by the performed comparison. | 02-25-2010 |
20100066500 | SELECTION OF AN IMD BY MEANS OF DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA - In a method and a system for initiating communication with an implantable medical device to conduct a wireless communication session between the implantable medical device and an external programmer device. A directional antenna is employed for initiating communication between a programmer device and an implantable medical device (IMD). The IMD is targeted by the programmer device by having an operator of the programmer device orient the directional antenna toward the IMD and transmitting a communication-initiating signal from the programmer to the IMD via the directional antenna. The directional antenna has a directional characteristic and communication range. the IMD responds to the communication-initiating signal by sending identification information to the programmer. the programmer may then use this identification to establish a communication session with the IMD targeted by the directional antenna. | 03-18-2010 |

20110257696 | IMPLANTABLE MEDICAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MONITORING SYNCHRONICITY OF THE VENTRICLES OF A HEART - In an implantable medical device and a method for monitoring ventricular synchronicity of a heart, impedance signals are measured that reflect septal wall movements and impedance amplitude peaks in the impedance signal are detected. A synchronicity index indicating a degree of synchronicity is determined based on detected impedance peaks, with at least two impedance peaks detected within a predetermined time window including a cardiac cycle or a part of a cardiac cycle indicating an increased dyssynchronicity in the ventricular contractions. | 10-20-2011 |

20090010819 | VERSATILE FLOW PATH - A flow path comprising a reaction cavity in which there is a solid phase to which an affinity reactant I1 has been immobilized by the use of an immobilizing pair of reactive structures that comprises a) a plurality of functional equal structures RSsp on the solid phase, and b) a structure RSari on affinity reactant I1, where RSsp and RSari are mutually reactive with each other to the formation of a link structure that immobilizes affinity reactant I1 to the solid phase. The characteristic feature is that the solid phase comprises a plurality of structures that derive from RSsp but do not immobilize affinity reactant I1 to the solid phase. | 01-08-2009 |

20160005416 | Continuous Pitch-Corrected Vocal Capture Device Cooperative with Content Server for Backing Track Mix - Techniques have been developed to facilitate (1) the capture and pitch correction of vocal performances on handheld or other portable computing devices and (2) the mixing of such pitch-corrected vocal performances with backing tracks for audible rendering on targets that include such portable computing devices and as well as desktops, workstations, gaming stations, even telephony targets. Implementations of the described techniques employ signal processing techniques and allocations of system functionality that are suitable given the generally limited capabilities of such handheld or portable computing devices and that facilitate efficient encoding and communication of the pitch-corrected vocal performances (or precursors or derivatives thereof) via wireless and/or wired bandwidth-limited networks for rendering on portable computing devices or other targets. | 01-07-2016 |
