Provided herein is the BrightScreener™ and its first pilot feasibility study for evaluating elderly with various degrees of cognitive impairment. BrightScreener is a portable (laptop-based) serious-gaming system which incorporates a bimanual game interface for more ecological 3D interaction with virtual worlds. A pilot study determined that BrightScreener is able to differentiate levels of cognitive impairment based solely on game performance, as well as to evaluate the technology acceptance by the target population. Subsequent group analysis of the Pearson correlation coefficient showed a high degree of correlation between the subjects' MMSE scores and their Composite Game Scores (0.90, |P|<0.01). Despite the small sample size (n=11), results suggest that serious-gaming strategies can be used as a digital technique to stratify levels of Cognitive Impairment. This may be an alternative to conventional standardized scoring for Mild Cognitive Impairment and Dementia, especially for patients with hearing and speech deficits. | 02-11-2016 |

20100134837 | INTEGRATED DATA PUBLISHING SYSTEM - An automated system for manufacturing entire data products to retail standards integrates several manufacturing techniques. This system operates with an “on demand” nature, and is customizable. It is comprised of six basic sections interconnected through a computer network. The customer creates an “order” by choosing from prearranged products, or creates a custom “series” of content of various digital data content. Order Management computer servers receive and process orders. The library gathers the content data with batches then further processes the order to be sent to the manufacturing sections. A printing section makes all booklets, liners, and other the printed materials. A publishing section makes the complete data medium. All components are marked with tracking identification like a barcode. The product and order completion section uses tracking to verify the components, assembling and packaging, either manually or automatically. System verifies completion, shipping information is provided, and final product is delivered. | 06-03-2010 |

20130249574 | CHEMICAL/ BIOLOGICAL SENSORS EMPLOYING FUNCTIONALIZED NANOSWITCH ARRAY - Sensor devices disclosed herein allow multiple analytes or organisms to be individually tagged and selectively detected. When a binding event occurs one or more nanoswitches close and the corresponding array resistance value produces a voltage imbalance in the Wheatstone Bridge. The voltage detected by the voltage meter will then exhibit unique value change corresponding to the particular nanoswitche(s) in the array that are closed due to a binding event. Similarly the same functionalization chemistry can be used on all nanoswitches so that the voltage detected by the voltage meter corresponds to concentration levels of the target analyte. Multiple functionalization chemistries on each switch can also be used to improve selectivity for more complex analytes. In some disclosed embodiments, the Wheatstone bridge voltage is tied to a predetermined resistance change rather than to smaller resistance changes that would occur from functionalization of one leg of a nanowire Wheatstone bridge. | 09-26-2013 |

20080319957 | EXTENSIBLE COMMAND TREES FOR ENTITY DATA MODEL PLATFORM - Systems and methods that provide for a canonical representation in a structured form of a query, against a data model platform. A parser component can parse the SQL query to generate the abstract class that represent the query (command tree). Similarly, results obtained from executing the query can be converted back to a form understandable by the application. | 02-05-2009 |
20100149966 | STATELESS, AFFINITY-PRESERVING LOAD BALANCING - The invention relates to an architecture that facilitates load balancing among a plurality of hosts and preserve session affinity to a given host. An incoming stream of data packets that include packet sessions is input to one or more forwarding mechanisms for forwarding to one or more hosts. The forwarders generate a routing function that takes into consideration host availability, and distributes session packets according to the routing function. A session is distributed to the same host to preserve session affinity. When host availability changes, a new routing function is generated, such that any new session is routed according to the new routing function and existing sessions are routed according to the old routing function. When the old routing function becomes irrelevant, it is phased out. An optimization utilizes a maximally backward compatible hash function to minimize the differences between the old and new routing functions. | 06-17-2010 |

20090019035 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANS-FACTOR RANKING OF SEARCH RESULTS - A system and method for trans-factor ranking of search results. Any number of attributes of items in a database being searched may be synthesized into a uniquely suitable ordering that brings relevant and authoritative results to the top of the list whenever such results exist in the database. The manner in which the attributes are used to create this ordering may be varied by users to tailor the ranking to their needs, and by database providers to take advantage of unique database contents. Attributes that are not in the database may be created dynamically and used to synthesize the order, based on the intersection between attributes that do exist in the database and attributes that are associated with the user or database manager. Attenuation and amplification factors are applied to attributes to control rankings. A multi-ranking interleaver determines a final ordering when more than one ranking strategy is used. | 01-15-2009 |

20090256562 | NMR METHOD OF DETECTING PRECIPITANTS IN A HYDROCARBON STREAM - A method for detecting the presence of precipitants in a hydrocarbon stream, the method comprising introducing at least a portion of the hydrocarbon stream into a measurement chamber of an NMR measuring device, assaying the fluids in the chamber with proton nuclear magnetic resonance to obtain NMR signals, and processing the NMR signals to detect the formation of precipitants in the hydrocarbon stream. The method may be carried out at first and second locations, and NMR signals obtained at the two locations compared to detect precipitation of precipitant between the two locations. A method of monitoring the water content of a hydrocarbon stream in a flowline comprising introducing at least a portion of the hydrocarbon stream into an NMR measuring device, measuring a baseline NMR water signal of the hydrocarbon stream and comparing subsequent NMR water signals with the baseline NMR water signal to detect changes in the water content of the hydrocarbon stream. | 10-15-2009 |

20080247575 | DIRECTIONAL LOUDSPEAKER TO REDUCE DIRECT SOUND - A directional loudspeaker provides an enhanced listening environment by producing an indirect sound field of greater amplitude than that of the direct sound field. The directional loudspeaker includes loudspeaker elements positioned to provide a listener located below the loudspeaker elements with an impression of sound spaciousness in a vehicle environment. The loudspeaker elements may include baffles or acoustic lenses to deflect the indirect field away from the path to the listener position. The loudspeaker may also be operated with windows open by channeling the indirect sound field through an acoustic waveguide and deflector to the listener. A sound processor is also provided to accept a sound input, create an indirect and direct sound field, output the sound fields to loudspeaker elements, and also may provide electronic enhancement effects such as multi-channel sound or sound parameter adjustment. | 10-09-2008 |
