20080318045 | Magnetorheological Elastomers and Use Thereof - The present invention relates to magnetorheological elastomers comprising at least one non-magnetisable elastomeric carrier medium and magnetisable particles contained therein and also to the use thereof. In the case of MREs of this type, the mechanical properties, such as the rigidity modulus, can be changed reversibly by an applied magnetic field. | 12-25-2008 |

20090173908 | Magnetorheological Elastomers (MREs) with Polynorbornene as a Carrier Medium, Processes for Producing Such Elastomer Composites and Their Use - The invention relates to composites made of an elastic carrier medium comprising polynorbornene (PNR) and magnetisable particles which are polarised reversibly in a magnetic field. Thus the mechanical properties, such as e.g. storage modulus G′ (describes the elastic behaviour or the energy storage) and loss modulus G″ (describes the viscous behaviour or the energy dissipation), of such elastomer composites can be increased rapidly and reversibly within wide limits (up to approx. two orders of magnitude) as a function of an external magnetic field. Wide-ranging application possibilities are produced herefrom, e.g. for adaptive damping systems, in which the damping force can be adjusted via the strength of the magnetic field. | 07-09-2009 |

20100307877 | ACTIVE VIBRATION-EXTINGUISHER CONTAINING MAGNETO- OR ELECTRORHEOLOGICAL FLUIDS, METHOD FOR REDUCING VIBRATIONS AND USES THEREOF - Present invention relates to a device for reducing vibrations of a vibrating object as well as a method for reducing vibrations, wherein the perturbing vibrations are reduced drastically by induction of counter-forces. In general, vibrations of equal frequency (counter-vibration) as the perturbing vibration are generated. The force generated by the counter-vibration acts onto the vibrating object, whose amplitude of vibration is to be reduced. The phasing of the counter-vibration is antipodal to the vibration to be reduced, preferably the force of the generated counter-vibration is greater than the force being necessary for compensation of the perturbing vibration. The transfer of the force of the counter-vibration onto the vibrating object is affected by means of a magnetorheological or electrorheological material, whereby the absolute value of the transmitted force is adjusted by the magnitude of an applied magnetical or electric field. With increasing strength of the magnetical or electric field, the magnetorheological or electrorheological material is stiffened increasingly. With optimal adjustments of the strength of the electric or magnetic field, the transmitted force equals the perturbing force and the perturbing vibration is compensated. | 12-09-2010 |
20100314572 | Magnetorheological composite materials comprising hard magnetic particles, method for the production thereof and use thereof - The present invention relates to composites comprising an elastic and/or thermoplastic-elastic carrier medium and hard magnetic particles which are polarised in a magnetic field, a magnetisation remaining after switching off the magnetic field. | 12-16-2010 |
20130236730 | Fluorosilicone-Based Dielectric Elastomer and Method for its Production - A dielectric elastomer has a film that contains a fluorinated silicone elastomer and has two faces. A coating of a stretchable electrode material is applied to each one of the two faces. The fluorinated silicone elastomer has a modulus of elasticity of maximally 450 kPa. The fluorinated silicone elastomer is a three-dimensionally crosslinked, fluorinated, alkyl group-containing polysiloxane in combination with a fluorinated silicone oil. Alternatively, or in addition, the fluorinated silicone elastomer is a three-dimensional wide-mesh crosslinked, fluorinated, alkyl-group containing polysiloxane whose wide mesh property has been effected by a chain length extension by addition of a chain-shaped silicone molecule containing two Si—H groups to an alkenyl group-containing polysiloxane molecule. | 09-12-2013 |
