20150101126 | PATIENT TURNING AND POSITIONING SYSTEM DEVICE - The invention comprises of a device that allows health care providers to position the body of a patient for progression of labor, for assistance in fetal resuscitation, and for other medical procedures. The device has inflatable chambers that assist the labor and delivery health care provider in turning a patient onto her right or left side while laying in bed. An inflatable positioning pad is used to further assist with the turning of a patient and/or with the shifting of a patient toward the head or the foot of the bed as needed. This device and method will allow turning to be done frequently, rapidly and safely, especially in pregnant patients with epidurals, that are overweight, or that otherwise have difficulty moving on their own. | 04-16-2015 |

20120299702 | HYBRID POSITIONING SYSTEM - A system for determining a position of a machine within a job site comprises at least one position monitoring device configured to collect information indicative of a location of the machine and a processor, communicatively coupled to the at least one position monitoring device. The processor is configured to estimate a location of the machine based on the received information using a first positioning technique. The processor is also configured to determine a first error value associated with the estimated location of the machine and compare the first error value with a threshold error level. If the first error value exceeds the threshold error level, the processor is configured to receive second information indicative of the location of the machine and determine the location of the machine based on the received second information, wherein the location of the machine is determined using a second positioning technique. | 11-29-2012 |
20130006482 | GUIDANCE SYSTEM FOR A MOBILE MACHINE - A method is disclosed for determining a grade of a roadway bordered by a marker including a bottom that contacts the roadway, with a machine traveling on the roadway. A scanning device mounted on the machine is used to locate a first point indicative of the bottom of the marker at a first geographical location along the roadway. The scanning device is also used to locate a second point indicative of the bottom of the marker at a second geographical location along the roadway. The locations of the first and second points are compared to determine the grade of the roadway. Also disclosed is a method for determining a bank of a roadway bordered on a first side by a first marker including a bottom that contacts the roadway and bordered on a second side by a second marker including a bottom that contacts the roadway, with a machine traveling on the roadway. A first scanning device mounted on one of a left side and a right side of the machine may be used to locate a first point indicative of the bottom of the first marker at a geographical location along the roadway. A second scanning device mounted on the other side of the machine may be used to locate a second point indicative of the bottom of the second marker at the same geographical location. The locations of the first and second points may be compared to determine the bank of the roadway. | 01-03-2013 |
20140236477 | POSITIONING SYSTEM UTILIZING ENHANCED PERCEPTION-BASED LOCALIZATION - A positioning system and method for determining a position of a machine on a worksite are disclosed. The method may store a map of the worksite which includes one or more known objects in the worksite. The method may determine whether a locating device associated with the machine is accurately providing the position of the machine. The method may also include detecting one or more objects in the worksite. The method may further determine an unmatched object from among the detected objects that does not match the one or more known objects stored in the map. The method may also store the unmatched object in the map as a known object of the worksite. | 08-21-2014 |

20080205755 | Method and apparatus for color matching - This disclosure generally relates to identifying objects by comparing their histograms. In aspect, the histograms of different color resolutions are constructed for each image and each compared to a corresponding histogram of another image. The results of the comparisons are combined to obtain an indicator of the difference between the color contents of the images and can be used to determine whether the images match each other. In another aspect, the color space is divided unevenly for each histogram, with the portions of the color space corresponding to white or gray being more finely divided than the portions corresponding to more saturated colors. | 08-28-2008 |
