20100049534 | Determining User Affinity Towards Applications on a Social Networking Website - Applications in social networks support interaction between members through various types of channels such as email, notifications, newsfeed, and so forth. For each channel, applications are ranked based on their user affinity measures. User affinity is based on measuring positive and negative interactions by users as both senders and recipients of messages generated by applications. Metrics are computed for the different types of messages and interactions provided by applications. For each channel, an application receives user affinity score based on specific weighted combination of the metrics. Applications use channel resources to send messages to increase their user base. Given the large number of applications that are available, the extent to which applications are allowed to use channels is controlled, limiting their resource consumption. User affinity scores of applications calculated for a channel are used to decide the allocation of the number of messages allowed for an application for a channel. | 02-25-2010 |

20090123800 | Post-reformer treatment of reformate gas - A method of modifying reformate gas composition downstream of the reformer so that it remains in a carbon-free region, i.e. above the critical oxygen/carbon ratio even at the desired minimum operating temperature. This is accomplished by using staged partial oxidation in a partial oxidation chamber downstream of the reformer. A small amount of air (or oxygen) is added. The net result is an increase in the oxygen/carbon ratio and, thus, a lowering of the required temperature for soot-free operation. Immediately downstream of this partial oxidation chamber, heat can be removed to cool the gas prior to a second stage of partial oxidation. A second stage partial oxidation chamber produces additional water and further increases the oxygen/carbon ratio and further lowers the required gas temperature for soot-free operation. Further stages of partial oxidation followed by cooling of the gas can be repeated until the oxygen/carbon ratio is sufficiently high to allow soot-free operation at the lowest required operating temperature. | 05-14-2009 |

20100052459 | Electromagnetic force motor - An electromagnetic force motor includes a stator having a plurality of magnets mounted along a perimeter of the rotor. Preferably, the stator magnets have opposite poles isolated from each other and pointed inward towards the rotor. The rotor will preferably have two appendages. The 1st appendage (called the major appendage for this design) will consist of a highly ferrous, magnetic material with tightly wound coils that will form a magnetic field when introduced to a magnetic field that is generated and collapsed at a frequency of from 0 to 50 khz. The 2nd appendage (called the minor appendage for this design) will consist of a highly ferrous, magnetic material, with a dimension less than or greater than but not the same as the 1st appendage with tightly wound coils numbered more than or less than but not the same as the 1st appendage. The number of appendages on the rotor may be increased or decreased as required. The number of appendages may vary from 1 to infinity. The height of the appendages is limited by the inside of the inside diameter of the motor housing chamber. The rotor will be attached to the drive shaft. The drive shaft will be constructed with non-ferrous material. The inner chamber of the motor that houses the rotor will be filled with a medium that will be used as a dielectric. This medium may vary from air to magnetic liquids. This project will use synthetic oil rated at 5W-30. This medium was chosen because the thermal rating exceeds the curie temperature of a magnet. The stator consists of low voltage high current magnetic blocks located a determined number of degrees apart from each other. These magnetic blocks will be sequenced on at a rate of 0-50 khz for this design. Higher rates may be used for future designs to increase the torque to horsepower ratio. The low voltage high current magnetic blocks will be controlled by controller digital outputs capable of sequencing on/off at a rate sufficient to satisfy the design. | 03-04-2010 |

A piston is movable in each piston bore in response to fluid pressure. A non-rotating carrier engages an end of each the pistons. A thrust bearing has an outer race fixed to the carrier and an inner race fixed to the second sheave and rotatable with the second sheave. The carrier includes an annular surface which engages an outer surface of the outer race. An O-ring is received in a groove in the annular surface and engages the outer race to resist rotation of the outer race. | 11-12-2009 |
