20150379371 | Object Detection Utilizing Geometric Information Fused With Image Data - Two-dimensional and three-dimensional data of a physical scene are combined and analyzed together to identify physical objects physically present in the physical scene. Image features obtained from the two-dimensional data and geometric features obtained from the three-dimensional data are combined with one another such that corresponding image features are associated with corresponding geometric features. Automated object detection mechanisms are directed to the combination of image and geographic features and consider them together in identifying physical objects from the physical scene. Such automated object detection mechanisms utilize machine learning such as selecting and tuning multiple classifiers, with each classifier identifying potential objects based on a specific set of image and geographic features, and further identifying and adjusting weighting factors to be applied to the results of such classifiers, with the weighted combination of the output of the multiple classifiers providing the resulting object identification. | 12-31-2015 |

20080318329 | Liquid crystal condensation of nucleic acid (na) complexes - Upon cooling solutions or melts of nucleic acids or other polymers in which the constituent molecules exhibit a varying tendency to form multi-strand complexes and thus liquid crystal phases, the complex-forming oligomers preferentially separate into the liquid crystal phase and condensing into liquid crystal domains. Because the tendency for liquid crystal phase formation correlates with the ability of the single strands to form duplexes, which in turn, depends on their degree of complementarity, separation of the liquid crystal domains thus constitutes a method for separating these molecules based upon their degree of complementarity. | 12-25-2008 |

20140297700 | SYSTEM AND METHOD TO STORE THIRD-PARTY METADATA IN A CLOUD STORAGE SYSTEM - A cloud storage system identifies and creates metadata associated with a stored file. On receiving a request to access the file with an application, the cloud storage system generates a metadata category associated only with the application, and creates metadata associated with the generated metadata category and corresponding to the file. On receiving a request to access file metadata, the cloud storage system identifies an application associated with the metadata access request, identifies a set of metadata categories associated with the identified application, filters metadata associated with the file based on the identified set of metadata categories, and provides the filtered metadata to the application. | 10-02-2014 |
20150019701 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING NOTIFICATIONS OF CHANGES IN A CLOUD-BASED FILE SYSTEM - A cloud-based file system receives a subscription request associated with a networked device and identifying a set of one or more resources of the cloud-based file system and a set of one or more resource modifications. The cloud-based file system determines whether the networked device is authorized to access the resource, and, if so, records a subscription based on the subscription request. In response to a user, an application, or other suitable entity making a modification in the set of modifications to a resource in the set of resources, the cloud-based file system generates a notification to the networked device and to other networked devices with subscriptions that include the modification to the resource. The notification may identify the subscription with which the notification is associated, provide information identifying the modification, or provide other suitable information. | 01-15-2015 |

20090320648 | RECOVERY OF MOLYBDENUM FROM MOLYBDENUM BEARING SULFIDE MATERIALS BY BIOLEACHING IN THE PRESENCE OF IRON - The invention relates to a method of recovering molybdenum from a molybdenum bearing sulfide material. The material is contacted with a leaching solution in the presence of iron compounds and mesophilic or thermophilic iron oxidizing microorganisms and subsequently, a leaching process is performed by controlling the molar ratio of dissolved ferric iron to dissolved molybdenum. Preferably, a high amount and molar excess of dissolved iron is used. The presence of high concentrations of ferric iron in bioleach solutions allows iron-oxidizing microorganisms to grow and oxidize iron and bioleach molybdenite at dissolved Mo concentrations as high as 4.4 g/L. Organic metabolites were not required for protecting cells from Mo toxicity. Maximum dissolution rates depend on reactor configuration, with agglomerated material simulating heap leaching of almost 1% Mo/day, but up to 10.2% Mo/day in suspension/stirred reactor configurations, with rate highly dependent on temperature within the range of 25° C. to 40° C. The ultimate extent of Mo removal from the molybdenum bearing sulfide material is 89%. Finally, molybdenum is recovered from a leach residue of the leaching process. | 12-31-2009 |
20110033908 | METHODS FOR SELECTIVELY PRODUCING HYDROGEN AND METHANE FROM BIOMASS FEEDSTOCKS USING AN ANAEROBIC BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM - The present invention provides a method for selective production of hydrogen and methane from a biomass feedstock in a reactor vessel maintained under anaerobic conditions by controlling moisture concentration in the reactor vessel. The method comprises the steps of introducing a biomass feedstock into the reactor vessel maintained under anaerobic conditions; introducing a bacterial inoculum into the reactor vessel to facilitate digestion of the biomass feedstock; setting a moisture concentration of the contents of the reactor vessel at a first moisture level; and collecting hydrogen gas from the reactor vessel. The method may further comprise maintaining the moisture concentration at a first moisture level or within a first moisture range. The method may additionally comprise increasing the moisture concentration of the contents of the reactor vessel to a second moisture concentration; and collecting methane gas from the reactor vessel. Switching between hydrogen and methane production is controlled by adjusting the moisture concentration of the contents of the reactor vessel. | 02-10-2011 |
