20120084210 | MOBILE DEVICE PAYMENT SYSTEM - Technology is provided for using a mobile device as part of a payment system. The mobile device utilizes an accessory with a security feature based on its connection state to the mobile device. When the accessory detects disconnection, the accessory deletes user account information on the accessory. When in a valid connection state, the accessory transmits a user payment service account identification and an accessory identification to a transceiver of a merchant computer system to initiate a transaction. A payment service system eventually receives the information transmitted by the accessory, and contacts the mobile device associated with the account for transaction approval in one example. Thus, the user initiates the transaction at his/her mobile device using the connected mobile device accessory, and approves the transaction on his/her mobile device. In other examples, the user can send approval in a transmission to the merchant system or set up other pre-authorization criteria. | 04-05-2012 |

20080274755 | Personal Service Integration on a Network - Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, for personal service integration on a network. A personal service monitors and stores user requests for services. The stored user requests are processed to determine usage patterns. The personal service processes the usage patterns to determine future requests and/or to determine how to fulfill a request. The personal service processes the request. | 11-06-2008 |
20080275941 | Service Integration on a Network - Described are computer-based methods and apparatuses, including computer program products, for service integration on a network. Telecommunication services (e.g., calendar, television, phone, location) on a network are integrated using service codelets designed to interface with the services. A default codelet associated with the user (e.g., via a service plan) dynamically calls the service codelets to request information from the associated services (e.g., calendar data) and/or perform tasks with the associated services (e.g., update calendar). The service codelets can dynamically call other service codelets based on the results of their requests for information. The information from the services is integrated and returned to the user. | 11-06-2008 |
20110145639 | Method and Apparatus For Controlling Traffic Entry In A Managed Packet Network - A method for control of real-time traffic entry of a managed packet network includes the step of receiving, from a border element processor, a first message indicative of a new active registration request associated with a client. The border element processor is one of a plurality of border element processors at an edge of a managed packet network controlling packets (e.g., relating to real-time multimedia traffic) entering the managed packet network. The method also includes the step of load balancing, by a load balancing engine, the new active registration request across the plurality of border element processors and assigning the client to a designated border element processor. A second message is generated in response to the new activation registration request. The second message includes a parameter identifying the designated border element processor assigned to the client. | 06-16-2011 |
20120166626 | Updating Traffic Rate for MSRP Sessions - A system and method is provided for adjusting a traffic rate for a Message Session Relay Protocol (MSRP) session established between two network nodes at a per session level. Each MSRP session has a traffic rate for which MSRP messages are transmitted over the MSRP session. The traffic rate per session can be adjusted, and the adjusted traffic rate per session can be communicated to adjacent nodes. | 06-28-2012 |

20090019851 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION - A system and method for controlling EGR of an internal combustion engine is presented. The system is capable of controlling EGR over a wide range of flow rates. | 01-22-2009 |
20090301447 | Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve - A system and method for controlling a multiple cylinder internal combustion engine include a mechanically operated exhaust gas recirculation valve having a spring-biased pintle with a surface area sized to generate a spring-opposing force to open a valve chamber entrance when an exhaust pressure differential exceeds a first threshold to allow exhaust gas to flow toward an intake and to close a valve chamber exit spaced from the chamber entrance to block exhaust gas flowing to the intake when the pressure differential exceeds a second threshold. The valve operates to limit or block external EGR flow at low load such as during starting and idle as well as at wide-open throttle while metering EGR flow for mid-to-high loads. | 12-10-2009 |
20090320811 | Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control System - An exhaust gas recirculation system has an EGR valve disposed in an EGR duct connecting an engine intake and exhaust. A diaphragm of said EGR valve is actuated via vacuum from the engine intake, the application of the vacuum is controlled via an electronic valve regulator (EVR). The EVR is provided a fixed signal to cause it to be fully open when it is determined that the engine is about to encounter a condition in which there is insufficient vacuum to open the EGR valve. The EVR is provided a variable signal during other operating conditions in which there is sufficient vacuum to open the EGR valve. | 12-31-2009 |
20110023847 | ADAPTIVE EGR CONTROL FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES - A system and method for controlling an internal combustion engine having an EGR valve determine a base valve position to deliver a target flow using a stored map and adjust the base position in response to differential pressure across an orifice in the EGR flow to move the valve to a position different from the base position to provide the target flow. | 02-03-2011 |
