20110047894 | COMPOSITE SHINGLE - A composite shingle having unitary construction is presented that includes a body shell, a plurality of longitudinal ribs, and a plurality of rib stiffeners. Further, the present composite shingle may also include transverse ribs, a depressed nailing zone, nailing zone ribs, and/or at least one alignment aid. The present composite shingle may also include spacing nibs. At least a portion of the outside face of composite shingle is textured to resemble slate or wood shake shingles. The butt end wall has a height that creates depth in composite shingle to more closely resemble true slate and shake shingles. The first side wall and second side wall generally taper from a greater height at the butt end to a lesser height at the top end. The longitudinal ribs extend downward from the bottom surface of the body shell to a common plane. There is a plurality of rib stiffeners that also extend downward from the bottom surface of the body shell and each rib stiffener end is integral with a longitudinal rib. The depressed nailing zone may also include nailing zone ribs. These ribs strengthen the area surrounding the nailing zone. Composite shingle may further comprise alignment aids including spacing nibs, a scale and/or a laying line. Additionally, the spacing nibs may be used in concert with a scale located on the top surface of the top surface to help the installer create offset composite shingle patterns or help make sure all the composite shingles have a uniform tab exposure. | 03-03-2011 |

20100305160 | ANESTHETIC METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS - The present invention relates to compositions and methods use in pain reduction, including but not limited to, peripheral nerve blocks. In particular, the present invention relates to compositions and methods for the administration of perineural dexmedetomidine and ropivacaine in combination for increased antinociception in peripheral nerve blocks. In addition, this invention relates to any use of dexmedetomidine alone or in combination with other agents for the purpose of decreasing inflammation around peripheral nerves, thereby decreasing the potential for peripheral nerve injury. Further, the invention relates to the use of dexmedetomidine to reduce inflammation in the muscle to lessen or prevent muscle damage. | 12-02-2010 |

20080262344 | RELATIVE VALUE SUMMARY PERFUSION MAP - Disclosed is a system and method for diagnosing a perfusion condition in the human brain. The process used includes measuring parameter values at a location of interest in one hemisphere and determining relative differences between those measured values against values measured at a substantially symmetrically opposite location in the other hemisphere. These relative differences are used to generate a composite output which is displayed using different colors. Each color is reflective of a different tissue state, e.g., ischemic core, penumbra, etc. If the substantially symmetrically opposite location is abnormal, and thus, is not a good reference, an alternative reference location which is not substantially symmetrically opposite the location of interest is chosen, and a relative difference map generated. Alternatively, an absolute value map can be generated. | 10-23-2008 |

20150107625 | DIESEL ENGINE CLEANING SYSTEM AND METHOD - The present invention discloses a system and method for removing soot and residue deposits from inside a diesel engine. The system provides a portable way of storing and heating a cleaning solution and passing the heated cleaning solution through an adaptor to an air intake of an operating diesel engine. The heated cleaning solution is withdrawn from the cleaning system by the vacuum pressure of the operating diesel engine and by air pressure applied to a storage tank containing the cleaning solution. | 04-23-2015 |

20110196243 | NON-CONTACT DETECTION OF PHYSIOLOGICAL DATA USING STOCHASTIC RESONANCE - Obtaining physiological data from a living being using non-contact sensors is disclosed. The non-contact sensors are disposed within, for example, a vehicle seat or bed. Signals detected by the non-contacting sensors, which include both physiological signals and ambient noise, are transmitted to a processing device which is positioned nearby; such as in the vehicle seat or bed. The processing device employs a stochastic resonance function whereby a signal-to-noise ratio of the physiological signals is improved. A wavelet multi-scale decomposition function and an adaptive threshold function are then used to identify the physiological signals and distinguish them from the ambient noise. The resulting signals are measured and then made available at an output of the processing device for transmission to and use by a human-machine interface. | 08-11-2011 |
20120169503 | DROWSY DRIVER DETECTION SYSTEM - A method of detecting impairment of a driver of a vehicle. The method includes sensing, using a sensor, a position of the driver's head at a plurality of time points; determining, using a microprocessor, changes in the position of the driver's head between the plurality of time points; evaluating, using a microprocessor, whether the changes in the position of the driver's head between the plurality of time points exhibit at least one of a periodic and a quasi-periodic pattern; determining whether the driver is impaired based on the pattern of the changes in the position of the driver' s head; and if the driver is impaired, alerting the driver using an alarm. | 07-05-2012 |
20150015400 | Computer-Aided System Detecting Operator Fatigue (CASDOF) - A system for monitoring operator alertness. The system includes a sensor for detecting a head position property of a head of an operator and a controller in operative communication with the sensor. The controller is configured to collect a first plurality of time points of the head position property of the head of the operator, determine a baseline of the head position property of the head of the operator based on the first plurality of time points, collect a second plurality of time points of the head position property of the head of the operator, determine an operating condition of the head position property of the head of the operator based on the second plurality of time points, and evaluate the alertness of the operator based on a comparison of the operating condition to the baseline to identify a period of head stillness. | 01-15-2015 |
20150154845 | DROWSY DRIVER DETECTION SYSTEM - A method of detecting impairment of a driver of a vehicle. The method includes sensing, using a sensor, a position of the driver's head at a plurality of time points; determining, using a microprocessor, changes in the position of the driver's head between the plurality of time points; evaluating, using a microprocessor, whether the changes in the position of the driver's head between the plurality of time points exhibit at least one of a periodic and a quasi-periodic pattern; determining whether the driver is impaired based on the pattern of the changes in the position of the driver's head; and if the driver is impaired, alerting the driver using an alarm. | 06-04-2015 |

20130255823 | Method of Making Border Wire and Apparatus For Practicing Method - An apparatus is provided which makes a border wire having a rectangular cross-section. The apparatus is adapted to receive a roll of wire having a circular cross-section, straighten the wire and change the cross-section of the wire to rectangular. The reconfigured wire is then accumulated, passed through another straightener, cut to size and then bent into a rectangular configuration. Opposed ends of the piece of wire having a rectangular cross-section are welded together to complete the border wire. The apparatus has an ejector which removes the completed border wire from the apparatus. | 10-03-2013 |
