The method involves obtaining a biological sample from the subject, determining whether the biological sample contains cells which have aberrantly increased Ras signaling, and administering an agent that selectively inhibits Protein Kinase C (PKC) delta to the subject upon determination of the aberrantly increased Ras signaling, to thereby inhibit PKC-delta in the cell. The increased Ras signaling may result from expression of activated Ras, e.g. resulting from mutations in codon 12, 13, 59, 61, 63, 116, 117, or 146. Such mutations can be determined by detection of a nucleotide sequence encoding an activated form of Ras protein, or by detection of the activated Ras protein. The increased Ras signaling may result from over-expression of wild-type Ras, over-activation of wild-type Ras, or increased activation of one or more effector pathways downstream of Ras. The tumor cells of the individual may be malignant or non-malignant. 20100175838 | NOISE DAMPENING MOTOR DRIVE SYSTEM FOR RETRACTABLE COVERING FOR ARCHITECTURAL OPENINGS - A motor-drive system for retractable covering having a headrail with a horizontally disposed roller supporting a top edge of a flexible fabric material includes an electric motor mounted within a housing and interconnected to the roller to selectively rotate the roller in opposite directions while minimizing noise created from vibrations within the system. This system includes motor mounts within the housing which separate and absorb vibrations of the motor within the housing and a drive disk of a moderately soft material, which is firm enough to transfer torque from the motor to the roller while being soft enough to absorb vibrations which would otherwise be transmitted from the motor to the roller. An interconnect mounting the drive disk to the drive shaft of the motor is also made of a third relatively soft material, which is harder than the drive disk to more ably transmit torque but soft enough so as not to unduly transmit noise. | 07-15-2010 |

20140216666 | CORDLESS RETRACTABLE ROLLER SHADE FOR WINDOW COVERINGS - A cordless retractable shade including an operating system for the shade that varies a biasing force of a spring to counterbalance the shade. The bottom rail of a retractable shade can be raised or lowered, and due to the operating system remains in any selected position of the covering between fully extended and fully retracted, without the use of operating cords. The system includes a method of negating and reversing the spring bias effect at a strategic position whereby the flexible vanes of the shade can be adjusted between open and closed. | 08-07-2014 |
20140262065 | COVERING FOR AN ARCHITECTURAL OPENING - A covering for an architectural opening is provided. The covering may include a rotatable roller, a shade attached to the rotatable roller, and a shade actuation system. The shade may be wrappable about the roller. The shade may include two laterally-separable sheets interconnected by a plurality of vertically-spaced vanes. The shade actuation system may be selectively engageable with a confronting face of one of the two laterally-separable sheets. Engagement of the shade actuation system and the one of the two laterally-separable sheets may restrict movement of the one of the two laterally-separable sheets relative to the other of the two laterally-separable sheets. | 09-18-2014 |
20140262066 | COVERING FOR AN ARCHITECTURAL OPENING - A covering for an architectural opening is provided. The covering may include an accumulator roller, a shade attached to the accumulator roller, and a shade actuation system.
20140262068 | COVERING FOR AN ARCHITECTURAL OPENING HAVING NESTED ROLLERS - A covering for an architectural covering is provided. The covering may include a rotatable outer roller, a rotatable inner roller, a first shade secured to the outer roller, and a second shade secured to the inner roller. The outer roller may define an elongated slot extending along a length of the outer roller and opening to an interior of the outer roller. The inner roller may be received within the outer roller and may define a central longitudinal axis. The first shade may be retractable onto and extendable from the outer roller. The second shade may extend through the elongated slot and may be retractable onto and extendable from the inner roller. The elongated slot may be substantially horizontally aligned with the central longitudinal axis of the inner roller when the first shade is in a fully extended position. | 09-18-2014 |
20140262069 | COVERING FOR AN ARCHITECTURAL OPENING HAVING NESTED ROLLERS - A covering for an architectural opening is provided. The covering may include an outer roller, an inner roller received within the outer roller, a first shade secured to and adapted to be wrapped around the outer roller, and a second shade secured to and adapted to be wrapped around the inner roller. The outer roller may define an elongated slot through which the second shade extends and retracts. Opposite ends of the inner roller may be aligned with corresponding ends of the outer roller. A mounting system may support the inner and outer rollers for rotative movement about a central longitudinal axis of the inner roller. A bottom rail of the second shade may engage the outer roller when the second shade is in the fully retracted position. Rotation of the inner roller when the second shade is in a retracted position may cause rotation of the outer roller. | 09-18-2014 |
