20090013468 | Radiotherapy apparatus - A patient support system comprises a base, an upstanding support, and a couch attached to the support and having a cantilever section extendable beyond the support; the support including a couch drive means to adjust the position of the couch relative to the support; further comprising a support drive means for translationally driving the support relative to the base in the direction of the cantilever section. This removes inaccuracies from patient position measurements that result from changes in the cantilever geometry during movement of the patient from a measuring position to a treatment position. The support drive means can be located in the base or in the support, and allows the patient support system as a whole to be translated, thereby permitting the patient to be moved into and out of an enclosed treatment area without affecting the vertical location of the patient. The only change to the patient position is in the translational position, which can be calibrated by way of fixed end stops for the support drive means. The present invention further relates to a radiotherapy apparatus, comprising a patient support as set out above, and an enclosed treatment area positioned in line with the cantilever section. | 01-15-2009 |

20160089574 | EXCERCISE CLASS APPARATUS AND METHOD - Exercise class systems and methods may include a plurality of pieces of exercise equipment and/or a plurality of sensing systems adapted to be worn on people in the class, each piece of equipment or sensing system outputting plural exercise signals relating to exercise performance on the piece of equipment or of the person with the sensing system. A computer system may also be provided. The computer system may include at least one electronic storage device which stores the plural signals from the pieces of equipment or sensing system and at least one processor which generates an output signal containing an animation corresponding to at least two of the exercise signals from each of the pieces of equipment or sensing systems. At least one display device, visible from each of the pieces of equipment or people in the class, may receive the output signal and display the animation. | 03-31-2016 |

20110084430 | Contoured Molten Metal Filter Cups - Contoured molten metal filter cups having an interstitial flow space that is maintained between the inner-wall of a molten metal pouring cone, riser sleeve or mold and the outer wall of the filter cup are disclosed. The interstitial space provided by the contoured filter cups results in significantly increased molten metal throughput during casting operations, while simultaneously providing an increased level of filtering efficiency. | 04-14-2011 |
20110283836 | Coatings for Refractory Substrates - A temperature-specific compound applied to refractory substrates having molten metal-contacting surfaces creates a chemically active and viscous surface that dramatically increases the ability of the treated substrate to remove slag, dross and other inclusions from a base metal alloy as it passes through or contacts the substrate. The refractory substrates include molten metal filters used by foundries and metal casters such as reticulated ceramic foam, cellular/honeycomb, silica mesh, and others that rely on their physical or sieving ability to remove particulate impurities from the base alloy being cast. The chemically active surfaces significantly increase filtration efficiency through a treatment process tailored to the specific chemistry of the alloy being filtered, such as ferrous metals that include iron, steel and more. Other refractory substrates such as aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, zirconium oxide, aluminum silicate, silicon carbide (as common with reticulated ceramic foam filters) and the like may also include the coatings. | 11-24-2011 |
