20130198139 | DURABILITY IMPLEMENTATION PLAN IN AN IN-MEMORY DATABASE SYSTEM - A database durability implementation records only committed transactions in a log file. A pair of log files and a pair of snapshot files are maintained. When a snapshot of the database is completed, the ‘current’ log becomes the ‘prior’ log and the other log becomes the ‘current’ log. After the next snapshot is completed, the prior log and prior snapshot may be deleted. Transactions that are not committed are not recorded in the current log, thereby avoiding the need to undo aborted transactions. If a given change is reflected in a completed snapshot, it does not appear in either of the logs; if the change is not yet reflected in a completed snapshot, it is guaranteed to be stored in one of the logs. During recovery, the system assesses both snapshots. The most recent of the completed snapshots is used, and the corresponding log(s) is (are) applied. | 08-01-2013 |
20130198166 | REUSING EXISTING QUERY PLANS IN A DATABASE SYSTEM - A system and method for executing query plans preprocesses a user's queries to identify and extract select parameters of the query, creates a skeletal query with reference to the extracted parameters, creates and compiles an executable version of the skeletal query, then executes the compiled version of the skeletal query using the particular parameters in the current query. The compiled version of the parameterized skeletal query is stored, and when another query is submitted that matches the skeletal query (but with potentially different parameters), the previously compiled skeleton query is executed with the parameters of this latter query. | 08-01-2013 |

The tank pressure module selectively outputs first and second fuel tank pressures when an engine is shut down and when engine vacuum is greater than a predetermined engine vacuum, respectively. The leak diagnostic module selectively diagnoses a leak in a fuel vapor purge valve based on the second fuel tank pressure when the first fuel tank pressure is less than a first predetermined pressure. | 08-27-2009 |
20110011472 | METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CORRELATING A PRESSURE SENSOR FOR A FUEL SYSTEM - A control module and method for operating the same includes a diurnal control valve module that opens a diurnal control valve (DCV) and an evaporative leak check module (ELCM) diverter valve control module that switches on an ELCM diverter valve. The control module includes a correlation module performs a correlation of a ELCM pressure signal and a fuel tank pressure signal and that generates a fault signal in response to the correlation when the DCV valve is open and the ELCM diverter valve is on. | 01-20-2011 |
20110315127 | LOW PURGE FLOW VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL - A vehicle includes an engine, a sealed fuel system having a fuel tank, a canister for storing fuel vapor, a vapor circuit external to the fuel tank, and a control valve. The vapor circuit includes an absolute pressure sensor and a switching valve connecting the fuel tank to the control valve. A controller evaluates or diagnoses a vapor purge function of the sealed fuel system using vacuum measurements from the absolute pressure sensor, executing or diagnosing only when the engine is running, purge is enabled, and the pump is off. The controller diagnoses the vapor purge function by comparing the vacuum measurements to a threshold vacuum. An apparatus includes the vapor circuit and controller. A method for diagnosing the vapor purge function includes actuating the switching valve, measuring a vacuum in the system using the absolute pressure sensor, and comparing the measured vacuum to a threshold vacuum. | 12-29-2011 |
20130184963 | FUEL SYSTEM BLOCKAGE DETECTION AND BLOCKAGE LOCATION IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS - A system for a vehicle includes a first pressure module and a blockage indication module. The first pressure module receives a signal from a pressure sensor that measures pressure within a fuel vapor purge system. The first pressure module generates a first pressure based on the signal at a first time and generates a second pressure based on the signal at a second time. The second time is after the first time. The blockage indication module indicates whether a blockage is present in the fuel vapor purge system between the pressure sensor and a fuel tank based on a difference between the first and second pressures. | 07-18-2013 |
20140278001 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN OPERATING FREQUENCY OF A PURGE VALVE TO IMPROVE FUEL DISTRIBUTION TO CYLINDERS OF AN ENGINE - A system according to the principles of the present disclosure includes an engine speed module and a valve control module. The engine speed module determines a speed of an engine based on a position of a crankshaft. The valve control module selectively adjusts an operating frequency of a purge valve based on the engine speed. | 09-18-2014 |

20100230226 | OVERRUNNING ONE-WAY CLUTCH OR COUPLING ASSEMBLY - An overrunning one-way clutch or coupling assembly includes a first outer coupling member and an inner coupling member which together have a first pair of annular coupling faces therebetween and a second outer coupling member which together with the inner coupling member have a second pair of annular coupling faces therebetween. Both pairs of coupling faces are formed with sets of pockets and locking formations. Forward and reverse sets of struts are located in pockets axially spaced apart from each other. | 09-16-2010 |
20110192697 | ENGAGEABLE COUPLING ASSEMBLY HAVING REDUCED SPIN LOSSES AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING SUCH ASSEMBLY WITHIN AN AUTOMOTIVE TRANSMISSION TO REDUCE SUCH LOSSES - An engageable coupling assembly having reduced spin losses and method of assembling such assembly within an automotive transmission to reduce such losses are provided. The assembly is adapted for use with pressurized fluid. The assembly includes first and second coupling members that are supported with respect to each other for relative rotation about a common rotational axis. The coupling members have a first pair of annular faces that oppose each other and define an annular space therebetween. A first face of the first pair has a set of pockets spaced about the rotational axis. A second face of the first pair has a set of locking formations. The coupling members have a second pair of annular faces that oppose each other. A first face of the second pair defines a first set of fluid grooves fluidly communicating the annular space with an exterior surface of the assembly. The fluid grooves are configured to conduct the pressurized fluid from the annular space and out of the assembly in an axial direction during an overrun condition of the assembly, thereby reducing spin losses when the assembly is disengaged. | 08-11-2011 |
20110214962 | DIECAST COUPLING MEMBER FOR USE IN AN ENGAGEABLE COUPLING ASSEMBLY - A diecast pocket plate or member having a sacrificial surface layer or portion is provided. The member is formed as a unitary die-casting from a die-casting alloy strengthened by an alloying material in a die-casting process. The diecast member also includes a relatively hard base portion including particles of the strengthening alloying material of the die-casting alloy. The diecast member further includes a plurality of surface portions which define the pocket. At least one generally vertical surface portion of the surface portions is soft relative to the hard base portion and is substantially devoid of the particles of the alloying material so that the at least one generally vertical surface portion wears or deforms (i.e., is sacrificial) during contact of the locking member against the at least one generally vertical surface portion during the overrun condition. | 09-08-2011 |
