20140357682 | ANDROGEN RECEPTOR LIGANDS - Non ligand binding pocket antagonists for the human androgen receptor. The androgen receptor (AR) is a member of the Nuclear Receptor (NR) family and its role is to modulate the biological effects of the endogenous androgens, testosterone (tes) and dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Synthetic androgens and anti-androgens have therapeutic value in the treatment of various androgen dependent conditions, from regulation of male fertility to prostate cancer. Current treatment of prostate cancer (PCa) typically involves administration of ‘classical’ antiandrogens, competitive inhibitors of natural AR ligands, DHT and tes, for the ligand binding pocket (LBP) in the C-terminal ligand binding domain (LBD) of the AR. However, prolonged LBP-targeting can often lead to androgen resistance and alternative therapies and therapeutic strategies are urgently required. Disclosed herein are a class of non-steroidal, small molecule AR antagonists which inhibit the transcriptional activity of the AR by non LBP-mediated modulation. The novel class reported demonstrates full (‘true’) antagonism in AR with low micromolar potency, high selectivity over both the Estrogen Receptors alpha and beta (ERα and ERβ) and the Glucocorticoid Receptor (GR) and only micromolar partial antagonism in the Progesterone Receptor (PR). Data provide compelling evidence for such non-LBP intervention as an alternative approach to classical PCa therapy. (Formula I). | 12-04-2014 |

20140106935 | EXERCISE DEVICE - This invention relates to an exercise device and more particularly to an exercise device of the type that allows the user of the exercise device to exercise with part of their body in a negative pressure environment. These devices are becoming increasingly popular however the known devices are prone to frequent failure. The present invention provides a construction of exercise device that reduces the incidences of failure caused by failure of the electronics panel. The electronics panel being mounted in a separate dedicated enclosure internal the chamber with the negative pressure environment, the interior of the dedicated enclosure is isolated from the negative pressure conditions and atmosphere in the remainder of the chamber. The exercise device will be more reliable and cost effective to run. Furthermore, the construction of the present invention permits easier access to the interior of the casing for maintenance when maintenance is required. | 04-17-2014 |

20110127716 | TARGET ASSEMBLY FOR A GOLF PUTTING GAME - The present invention is directed to target assembly for receiving a golf ball comprising a plurality of parallel golf ball receiving elongate channels; each channel having substantially the same width the other channels and each channel comprising a plurality of discrete golf ball receiving zones. That the channels may be adjusted and adapted to provide one or more consolidated target for players to aim for on the golf ball putting practice device. The sub-divisions of each channel and the plurality of channels form a grid structure. By assigning different scores to the different sub-divisions of each channel, one or indeed multiple targets can be formed. These targets can be then altered to prevent ‘muscle memory’ effects from assisting a player to achieve a high score. | 06-02-2011 |
