20100045871 | VIDEO LUMINANCE CHROMINANCE SEPARATION - The invention provides techniques for separating luma and chroma signal components in a composite SECAM video signal. During reception, the SECAM video signal is split into luma and chroma output. The amplitude of the chroma carrier is monitored during reception. If the chroma carrier amplitude is greater than a threshold, the value of the chroma output can be reduced. Also, if the chroma carrier amplitude is greater than another threshold, a portion of the chroma carrier can be added to the luma; or the trap band of the band-trap filter for extracting luma from the composite video can be reduced. The respective amount of the reduction in the chroma output and the increase in the luma output are independently determined but both may proportional to the magnitude of the deviation in the chroma carrier amplitude from the different thresholds. | 02-25-2010 |

20090075325 | SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ANALYZING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS - A method for analyzing agricultural products at a point of transaction is provided. The method comprises presenting a sample comprising at least one seed to a portable analysis system; analyzing the sample for at least one relevant attribute; and characterizing the sample for the transaction based upon the results of the analysis for the at least one relevant attribute. | 03-19-2009 |
20110154882 | Methods and Systems For Differentiating Soybeans - Methods and systems for analyzing soybeans and, more particularly, for analyzing soybeans at the point of delivery such as a grain elevator or processing plant for a characteristic of the soybeans such as the β-conglycinin protein content or the intensity of flavor of the soybeans. | 06-30-2011 |
20120040339 | Imaging Glyphosate in Plant Tissue - Methods and compositions are provided for spatial imaging and quantifying glyphosate in plant tissue. Glyphosate oxidoreductase is coupled to a cycling flavin mononucleotide-oxidoreductase-luciferase system. The resulting bioluminescence is proportional to the amount of glyphosate, allowing glyphosate to be observed within plant tissue and quantified. | 02-16-2012 |
20120180386 | HIGH THROUGHPUT SCREENING OF FATTY ACID COMPOSITION - A method of accumulating a quantity of seeds having a desired fatty acid characteristic is provided. The method includes removing a sample from each seed in a population of seeds while maintaining the germination viability of the seeds; contacting each sample with a solvent to form a mixture comprising fatty acid methyl esters; analyzing the mixture of fatty acid methyl esters from each sample to determine the fatty acid profile of the corresponding seed; selecting seeds having at least one desired fatty acid characteristic based on the analysis of the samples removed from the seeds; cultivating plants from the selected seeds; recovering seeds from the cultivated plants, wherein the recovered seeds are a subsequent generation of the selected seeds; and repeating the operations for one or more generations of the recovered seeds to thereby accumulate the quantity of seeds having the desired fatty acid characteristic. | 07-19-2012 |

20110192409 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SMOKING A HAND-ROLLED CIGARETTE - The present invention is a holder and method for using a holder that works with a hand rolled cigarette. A hollow tubular member is utilized having a first end that the user breathes from, and a second end that holds the hand-rolled cigarette. The cigarette is tightly rolled about an elongate steel rod or other stiff member having a diameter that can pass through the hollow tubular member, such that the rod protrudes from the cigarette far enough to be easily grasped by the user. The user inserts the rod through the holder until it passes out the first end, thereby wedging the attached cigarette into the second end of the holder. The second end of the holder preferably has internal threads, and the rod is twisted by the user to further engage the threads by the cigarette end to reliably affix the cigarette to the holder. The rod is then removed, leaving the cigarette firmly in the holder. | 08-11-2011 |
