20120045501 | CONNEXIN ENHANCES CHEMOTHERAPY-INCLUDED APOPTOSIS IN HUMAN CANCER CELLS INHIBITING TUMOR CELL PROLIFERATION - The present invention provides methods and compositions for the inhibition of proliferation rate of target cells, for example tumor cells. In particular, a nucleic acid encoding a connexin protein, fragment, derivative or analog thereof can be incorporated into a target cell. Expression of the nucleic acid sequence encoding the connexin protein, fragment, derivative or analog thereof, particularly connexin 43 and non-phosphorylated connexin 43, reduces the level of bc1-2 expression in the cells thereby inducing the cells to enter apoptosis. Connexin protein, fragments, derivatives, or analogs thereof can also be administered to the cell population to reduce bc1-2 expression inducing apoptosis in the cell population. It has further been found that the addition of an antagonist of MCP-1 activity can enhance the effects of connexin on tumor cell proliferation. Also, the prognosis of a subject undergoing standard chemotherapy can be assessed by correlating the expression levels of connexin and bc1-2. | 02-23-2012 |

20150183007 | WATERLESS AND OTHER METHODS FOR CLEANING UP POWDER OR OTHER CONTAMINANTS - Methods are presented for managing a contaminant that may be in a powdered form. One such method can include pre-cleaning a contamination area where a contaminant can be introduced, and constructing a media barrier and blocking an infrastructure feature with the media barrier so that ingress of the contaminant into the infrastructure feature is prevented. The contaminant can be removed from the contamination area by performing a hand sweep of the contamination area, and performing mechanized sweeping of the contamination area. Next residual contaminant in the contamination area is treated, and the treated contaminant allowed to naturally disperse. The media barrier is then removed. | 07-02-2015 |

20160047282 | Fan Forced Oil Filter Cooler - The current invention consists of a fan forced heat sink oil cooler which attaches to the end of an oil filter. Typically, the invention will be used for the cooling of engine oil on an air cooled motorcycle. The current invention utilizes a housing attached to a fan forced, finned heat sink to remove heat from the engine oil expelling engine heat to the ambient air. The invention externally clamps on the oil filter which effectively turns the oil filter into an oil cooler. The design provides engine oil cooling during periods of idle or slow speeds as well as while the vehicle is in motion. The new design has remedied the necessity of penetrating and changing the existing oil route thus avoiding harm to the engine due to malfunction of an oil cooler. Another advantage to this design is simple and quick installation with ordinary knowledge and skill. | 02-18-2016 |

20090135810 | Device to terminate a modem relay channel directly to an IP network - A modem data aggregating gateway that supports modem relay functionality for permitting reliable switching of modem traffic between a VoIP network and a data packet switch Internet Protocol (IP) network, s.a. the Internet. The modem relay aggregator may receive modem data encapsulated as Voice over IP (VoIP) data packets in accordance with a Simple Packet Relay Transport (SPRT) mechanism. The packet data may be error corrected and/or decompressed before being repackaged for forwarding to the ultimate destination. In the event that the destination is itself an IP device, the modem relay aggregator may forward the packets directly over the IP network. As a result, if the destination of a modem call is an IP device (such as a Web site or other Internet-enabled device) the technique eliminates two points from a processing path in which digital signal processing (DSPs) would otherwise have to perform modem protocol processing. Otherwise, minimal modem reformatting can be performed at the aggregation point. | 05-28-2009 |
