20080260831 | Extracellular Matrix-Derived Gels and Related Methods - Provided are methods for preparing gelled, solubilized extracellular matrix (ECM) compositions useful as cell growth scaffolds. Also provided are compositions prepared according to the methods as well as uses for the compositions. In one embodiment a device, such as a prosthesis, is provided which comprises an inorganic matrix into which the gelled, solubilized ECM is dispersed to facilitate in-growth of cells into the ECM and thus adaptation and/or attachment of the device to a patient. | 10-23-2008 |
20080268019 | Biohybrid elastomeric scaffolds and methods of use thereof - Provided herein is a biohybrid elastomeric scaffold comprising a synthetic polymeric component and a biological polymeric component. The scaffold can be fabricated to have many different forms, non-limiting examples of which include a non-woven fibrous mesh or in a porous composite. Methods of use of the biohybrid elastomeric scaffolds in wound healing and tissue regeneration are also provided. | 10-30-2008 |

20110008217 | METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ON-SITE NITRATE PRODUCTION FOR A WATER PROCESSING SYSTEM - An electric plasma arc apparatus and method produces nitrogen compounds, solely using ambient air extracted in proximity to the apparatus. The nitrogen compounds are brought into contact with a water processing system, forming nitrate on-site. Hydrogen sulfide present in the water processing system is removed, and the production of hydrogen sulfide by sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) is eliminated by introducing nitrate into the system, whereby denitrifying microorganisms, using the nitrate, outcompete the sulfate-reducing bacteria for the available carbon nutrients, thus preventing the SRB from producing hydrogen sulfide. Nitrate ions generated in the water processing system which contains the denitrifying microorganisms can enhance oil recovery by means of microbial enhanced oil recovery mechanisms. Further, the electric plasma arc apparatus and methodology eliminate major costs of conventional treatment techniques, including the transportation and storage of nitrate and the need for a continuous supply of natural gas and water. | 01-13-2011 |

20080284678 | VEHICLE DISPLAY - A vehicle display system includes a display that includes first and second display areas. The first display area displays a plurality of first icons in a first color indicative of a first warning. The second display area displays a plurality of second icons in a second color indicative of a second warning that is different than the first color. An icon library includes the pluralities of first and second Icons. A command module selects from the pluralities of first and second icons based on one or more vehicle conditions. A first control module controls the first display area to display one of the first plurality of icons, at a time based on the selections from the command module. A second control module controls the second display area to display one of the second plurality of icons at a time based on the selections from the command module. | 11-20-2008 |
