20090016408 | SYSTEM FOR EXTENDING THE OPERATING TEMPERATURE RANGE OF HIGH POWER DEVICES - A method and system for efficiently extending the operating temperature range of high power components within a system/device. An embedded monitor measures local temperatures such as junction temperatures of components. When the measured temperature is less than the lowest operational temperature threshold of the component, temperature control logic initiates pre-heating to raise the component's temperature to an operational level, utilizing a heating source. The component (or device) is made operational only when the temperature is at or above the operational level. The temperature control logic maintains the operational temperature of the component using the high power dissipated by components within the operating system/device as a self heating source. If self heating is unable to maintain the operational temperature, the heating source is utilized to assist in maintaining the component's operational temperature, and thereby extends the useable operational temperature range of the system in which the components are employed. | 01-15-2009 |

20130036466 | INTERNET INFRASTRUCTURE REPUTATION - One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for internet connectivity protection. In particular, reputational information assigned to infrastructure components (e.g., IP addresses, name servers, domains, etc.) may be leveraged to determine whether an infrastructure component associated with a user navigating to content of a URL is malicious or safe. For example, infrastructure component data associated with a web browser navigating to a website of a URL may be collected and sent to a reputation server. The reputation server may return reputation information associated with the infrastructure component data (e.g., an IP address may be known as malicious even though the URL may not yet have a reputation). In this way, the user may be provided with notifications, such as warnings, when various unsafe conditions arise, such as interacting with an infrastructure component with a bad reputation, a resolved IP address not matching the URL, etc. | 02-07-2013 |
20130042294 | IDENTIFYING APPLICATION REPUTATION BASED ON RESOURCE ACCESSES - Malware detection is often based on monitoring a local application binary and/or process, such as detecting patterns of malicious code, unusual local resource utilization, or suspicious application behavior. However, the volume of available software, variety of malware, and sophistication of evasion techniques may reduce the effectiveness of detection based on monitoring local resources. Presented herein are techniques for identifying malware based on the reputations of remote resources (e.g., web content, files, databases, IP addresses, services, and users) accessed by an application. Remote resource accesses may be reported to a reputation service, which may identify reputations of remote resources, and application reputations of applications that utilize such remote resources. These application reputations may be used to adjust the application policies of the applications executed by devices and servers. These techniques thereby achieve rapid detection and mitigation of newly identified malware through application telemetry in a predominantly automated manner. | 02-14-2013 |

20120209323 | APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR SEALING A VASCULAR PUNCTURE - A sealant is provided for sealing a puncture through tissue that includes an elongate first section including a proximal end, a distal end, and a cross-section sized for delivery into a puncture through tissue, and a second section fused to and extending from the distal end of the first section. The first section may be formed from a freeze-dried hydrogel that expands when exposed to physiological fluid within a puncture. The second section may be formed from a solid mass of non-freeze-dried, non-crosslinked hydrogel precursors, the precursors remaining in an unreactive state until exposed to an aqueous physiological, whereupon the precursors undergo in-situ crosslinking with one another to provide an adhesive layer bonded to the first section. Apparatus and methods for delivering the sealant into a puncture through tissue are also provided. | 08-16-2012 |

20140082915 | INTEGRATED TRANSLATIONAL LAND-GRID ARRAY SOCKETS AND LOADING MECHANISMS FOR SEMICONDUCTIVE DEVICES - A land-grid array die package socket is configured for low- or zero insertion-force assembly with a land-grid array die package. For zero insertion-force assembly, a motion plate applies a force on a land-grid array contact that causes a contact tip to move into protective cover while the die package is inserted into the socket. After zero insertion-force assembly, the motion plate applies a force on the land-grid array contact that causes the contact tip to deflect in a positive-Z direction until a useful contact is made at the contact tip with a land-grid array pad. | 03-27-2014 |
20140162473 | MOBILE INDEPENDENT LOADING MECHANISM - A mobile device assembly comprising a land grid array (LGA) socket configured to couple with a board of a mobile device. The LGA socket may be configured to couple with a component of the mobile device. A mobile independent loading mechanism (ILM) may at least partially overlap the component and couple with the board of the mobile device via one or more fasteners. By coupling with the board of the mobile device, the mobile ILM may therefore apply pressure to the component, securely holding the component to the LGA socket. | 06-12-2014 |

20100268851 | Management of Redundant Physical Data Paths in a Computing System - A redundancy manager manages commands to peripheral devices in a computer system. These peripheral devices have multiple pathways connecting it to the computer system. The redundancy manager determines the number of independent pathways connected to the peripheral device, presents only one logical device to the operating system and any device driver and any other command or device processing logic in the command path before the redundancy manager. For each incoming command, the redundancy manager determines which pathways are properly functioning and selects the best pathway for the command based at least partly upon a penalty model where a path may be temporarily penalized by not including the pathway in the path selection process for a predetermined time. The redundancy manager further reroutes the command to an alternate path and resets the device for an alternate path that is not penalized or has otherwise failed. | 10-21-2010 |
