20090157392 | PROVIDING SPEECH RECOGNITION DATA TO A SPEECH ENABLED DEVICE WHEN PROVIDING A NEW ENTRY THAT IS SELECTABLE VIA A SPEECH RECOGNITION INTERFACE OF THE DEVICE - The present invention discloses a solution for providing a phonetic representation for a content item along with a content item delivered to a speech enabled computing device. The phonetic representation can be specified in a manner that enables it to be added to a speech recognition grammar of the speech enabled computing device. Thus, the device can recognize speech commands using the newly added phonetic representation that involve the content item. Current implementations of speech recognition systems of this type rely internal generation of speech recognition data that is added to the speech recognition grammar. Generation of speech recognition data can, however, be resource intensive, which can be particularly problematic when the speech enabled device is resource limited. The disclosed solution offloads the task of providing the speech recognition data to an external device, such as a relatively resource rich server or a desktop device. | 06-18-2009 |
20090171663 | REDUCING A SIZE OF A COMPILED SPEECH RECOGNITION GRAMMAR - The present invention discloses creating and using speech recognition grammars of reduced size. The reduced speech recognition grammars can include a set of entries, each entry having a unique identifier and a phonetic representation that is used when matching speech input against the entries. Each entry can lack a textual spelling corresponding to the phonetic representation. The reduced speech recognition grammar can be digitally encoded and stored in a computer readable media, such as a hard drive or flash memory of a portable speech enabled device. | 07-02-2009 |

20090204566 | Processing of Deterministic User-Defined Functions Using Multiple Corresponding Hash Tables - A deterministic UDF processing mechanism processes user-defined functions (UDFs) using multiple hash tables. Data access patterns for a UDF are collected, and an appropriate hash table set is then determined for the UDF from the data access patterns. If a UDF accesses some similar columns and some disjoint columns, the similar columns are grouped together, and one or more hash tables are allocated to the similar columns. Disjoint columns are allocated their own hash tables. In addition, the allocation of hash tables may be adjusted based on historical access patterns collected over time. By dynamically allocating and adjusting sets of hash tables to a deterministic UDF, the performance of the UDF is greatly increased. | 08-13-2009 |

20100054164 | Random Linear Network Coding for Time Division Duplexing - A new random linear network coding scheme for reliable communications for time division duplexing channels is proposed. The setup assumes a packet erasure channel and that nodes cannot transmit and receive information simultaneously. The sender transmits coded data packets back-to-back before stopping to wait for the receiver to acknowledge (ACK) the number of degrees of freedom, if any, that are required to decode correctly the information. Provided herein is an analysis of this problem to show that there is an optimal number of coded data packets, in terms of mean completion time, to be sent before stopping to listen. This number depends on the latency, probabilities of packet erasure and ACK erasure, and the number of degrees of freedom that the receiver requires to decode the data. This scheme is optimal in terms of the mean time to complete the transmission of a fixed number of data packets. It is shown that its performance is very close to that of a full-duplex system, while transmitting a different number of coded packets can cause large degradation in performance, especially if latency is high. Also described herein is the throughput performance of the novel system and technique along with a comparison to existing half-duplex Go-back-N and Selective Repeat ARQ schemes. Numerical results, obtained for different latencies, show that the novel system and technique described herein has similar performance to the Selective Repeat in most cases and considerable performance gain when latency and packet error probability is high. | 03-04-2010 |

20110147897 | OFFSET FIELD GRID FOR EFFICIENT WAFER LAYOUT - Techniques are provided for efficient wafer layout, which include the use of an offset grid to optimize use of available wafer space. As such, the number of identical die that can be fabricated on the wafer can be increased, relative to a standard perpendicular grid. By adding additional registration marks, an increase in flexibility of where each row/column of fields can be printed is enabled. This increased level of freedom in-turn allows for the optimization of the number of die that each row/column can contain, and translates directly into an increase in the number of yielding die per wafer. In addition, techniques are provided that allow for the dicing of individual die in a non-Cartesian coordinated manner. However, conventional singulation techniques can be used as well, given attention to the offset grid lines. | 06-23-2011 |
20120162622 | FIELD EXTENSION TO REDUCE NON-YIELDING EXPOSURES OF WAFER - Techniques are provided for efficient lithography processing and wafer layout. In particular, the techniques can be used to reduce the number of sacrificial exposures along the wafer perimeter region. In one example embodiment, an exposure system reticle is configured with both a normal area (die yielding area) and a dumification area (non-yielding area at wafer perimeter), thereby allowing for lithographic processing in the non-yielding areas sufficient to facilitate successful processing in the adjacent die yielding areas, but without requiring additional sacrificial exposures. This reduction in sacrificial exposures translates to a significant improvement in fab capacity. The techniques can be implemented, for example, on any number of lithography tools having an adjustable reticle or reticle blind capability and in the context of any technology nodes, such as 95 nm and smaller. The lithography tool may produce wafers at a faster rate. | 06-28-2012 |

20100231942 | METHODS AND SYSTEMS ACHIEVING PRINT UNIFORMITY USING REDUCED MEMORY OR COMPUTATIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Engine response curves (RCs) can be used for streak compensation for printed documents. A feedback control paradigm can be included to effect RC compensation. Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) can be used to represent each RC in the collection of spatial RC data as a linear combination of basis vectors. RCs are approximated by selecting the first few basis vectors, the approximation aiding in noise rejection and reducing computation in the controller by reducing dimensionality of the RC data from gray levels to the number of SVD bases selected. An optimal subset of RCs is selectable from the set of approximated RCs by clustering the SVD weights, the clustered SVD weights producing TRCs that span all engine response RCs generated by a printer. Compensation RCs are constructible using reduced number of bases and clustered SVD weights. | 09-16-2010 |
