20130114985 | CONTROLLING EXIT VELOCITY OF PRINTED SHEETS BEING STACKED TO OPTIMIZE STACK QUALITY - Methods and devices determine the media properties of a sheet of media exiting a printing device. The methods and devices apply the media properties to a predetermined velocity equation to calculate a corresponding sheet exit velocity for the sheet of media that will optimize stack quality in a particular output tray. Then, the methods and devices change process controls sheet movement elements within a media path of the printing device to cause the sheet of media to exit the printing device at the sheet exit velocity. | 05-09-2013 |
20150022845 | AUTOMATICALLY IDENTIFYING LOCATIONS OF PRINTING DEFECTS WITHIN PRINTED ROLLS - Methods and systems print markings on a web of media using a printer to produce a printed roll of media. During the printing, the printer automatically analyzes the internal printer conditions, and automatically identifies printing errors based on the internal printer conditions during the printing. Further, such methods and systems automatically record the printing errors in an error log file using a computerized device that is operatively connected to the printer and store the error log file in a network storage element within a computerized network. Also, such methods and systems transmit the error log file from the computerized device (or the network storage element) to a post-printing processing device using the computerized network after receiving a request for the error log file. The post-printing processing device unwinds the printed roll and automatically stops the unwinding process at locations of the printing errors based on the error log file. | 01-22-2015 |

20090071171 | CRYOGENIC LIQUID STORAGE METHOD AND SYSTEM - A cryogenic liquid storage system and method in which cryogenic liquid is stored within an active cryogenic liquid storage tank and one or more passive cryogenic liquid storage tanks. Headspace regions of the passive cryogenic liquid storage tanks are connected to the active cryogenic liquid storage tank and the active cryogenic liquid storage tank is refrigerated to collapse the headspace vapor within the active cryogenic liquid storage tank causing the flow of headspace vapor from the headspace regions of the passive cryogenic liquid storage tanks to the active cryogenic liquid storage tank. The increased head of liquid produces a pressure differential that drives liquid from the active cryogenic liquid storage tank back to the passive cryogenic liquid storage tanks. 20150298168 | METHODS FOR PREPARING AND REPAIRING CHEMICALLY-RESISTANT COATINGS - The present invention provides methods for preparing or repairing a chemically-resistant coating such as a porcelain enamel on a metal substrate. One such method involves forming a softened ground coat on the substrate by heating to or maintaining an elevated temperature, followed by flame-spray depositing a coating material onto the softened ground coat. Then, the substrate is allowed to cool slowly so the chemically-resistant coating can form with less stress. Optionally, an induction coil is used to heat the substrate, both to form the softened ground coat and to slow the cooling of the substrate. Such methods allow for easier and faster repairs, and even in situ repairs of articles such as chemical reactor vessels, covers, baffles, thermowells, agitators, agitator shafts, pipes, heat exchangers, and storage tanks. Articles having a chemically-resistant coating also form a part of the invention. | 10-22-2015 |
