20150222973 | Input-Controllable Dynamic Cross-Connect - A multiplexer capable of automatically and dynamically selecting a correct or the best input out of a pre-configurable set of alternative inputs, based on the current status of the alternative inputs. An input status-sensitive, dynamic, M-by-M digital cross-connect can be formed out of an arrangement of M (an integer) instances of such input-controllable dynamic M:1 multiplexers. An application is an SDH/SONET cross-connect system that is able to perform a protection-switch for any number, up to all, of its output paths, simultaneously, if necessary, thereby enabling a short and deterministic latency for individual-path-granular protection-switch process for cross-connects of unlimited capacity. Another application is an SDH/SONET path that can be dynamically shared, even at a single time-slot granularity, among multiple path sources. Such a multi-source-bus configuration of an SDH/SONET path enables allocating network resources dynamically based on the real-time capacity demand patterns, thereby maximizing the network throughput for bursty data traffic. | 08-06-2015 |

20090310486 | NETWORK DATA TRANSPORT MULTIPLEXER BUS WITH GLOBAL AND LOCAL OPTIMIZATION OF CAPACITY ALLOCATION - Systems and methods enable maximizing network data throughput via optimizing network capacity allocation. The network throughput maximization system comprises a network transporting data from source nodes to a destination node of the network, buffers for buffering data bytes to be sent from the source nodes to the destination node, and distributed algorithms performed by the destination and source node that cyclically optimize allocation of the network capacity among the source nodes according to the amounts of data bytes written in the buffers at the source nodes. The network data transport capacity allocation optimization method comprises steps of buffering at network source nodes data bytes to be transported to a network destination node, and cyclically optimizing by the destination and source nodes the data transport capacity allocation among the source nodes based on the relative volumes of bytes written in the source node buffers associated with the destination node. | 12-17-2009 |
20090310610 | Packet-Layer Transparent Packet-Switching Network - Packet forwarding systems and methods allow packet-layer transparent, multi-stage packet forwarding among a set of network access points. Packet forwarding across networks utilizing the invention is directly controllable through the upper-layer nodes, e.g. routers, interconnected by such transparent packet forwarding networks. The systems and methods provide packet-layer routing, switching and forwarding look-up-table free and transparent forwarding of label-encapsulated multi-protocol packet traffic among a set of routers. The invention enables flexible and efficient packet multicast and anycast capabilities along with real-time dynamic load balancing and fast packet-level traffic protection rerouting. The invention replaces the need for packet forwarding look-up-tables in a router interconnect network by a set of rules using which such network forwards packets directly based on their forwarding labels inserted in the packet headers by the routers exchanging packets through said network, thus simplifying network management and equipment implementation, and facilitating optimization of packet traffic flow across communications networks. | 12-17-2009 |

20080296074 | Data Management in an Electric Pen - In an information management system for handling digital position data recorded by an electronic pen, the pen is designed to operate essentially independently of other system components. The pen is controlled to incorporate the position data into a data file object suitable for storage in a file system, and to expose the file object to an external data handler. The data file object may then be transported in the system from the external data handler in a sequential chain of transfers, with each transfer being independent of other transfers. The pen may be controlled to convert recordings of a first code on a product to one or more absolute positions in a coordinate system, to convert recordings of a second code to data indicative of a functional layout of the product, the data defining one or more functional areas in the coordinate system, and to map the absolute position(s) against the data to identify if the absolute position(s) falls within the functional area(s). Thus, the pen may be dynamically provided with a description of all or parts of the functional layout of a product, thereby reducing the need of the pen to pre-store such descriptions for all products. Encryption or usage may also be controlled based on data encoded by the second code. | 12-04-2008 |

20130188166 | IMAGE READING AND WRITING USING A COMPLEX TWO-DIMENSIONAL INTERLACE SCHEME - The current invention relates to writing or reading a pattern on a surface, such as in microlithography or inspection of mircrolithographic patterns. In particular, Applicant discloses systems recording or reading images by scanning sparse 2D point arrays or grids across the surface, e.g., multiple optical, electron or particle beams modulated in parallel. The scanning and repeated reading or writing creates a dense pixel or spot grid on the workpiece. The grid may be created by various arrays: arrays of light sources, e.g., laser or LED arrays, by lenslet arrays where each lenslet has its own modulator, by aperture plates for particle beams, or arrays of near-field emitters or mechanical probes. For reading systems, the point grid may be created by a sparse point matrix illumination and/or a detector array where each detector element sees only one spot. The idea behind the use of large arrays is to improve throughput. However, the throughput does not scale with the array size, since above a certain size of arrays, previously known schemes fall into in their own tracks and start repeating the same data over and over again. This application discloses methods to scan workpieces with large arrays while preserving the scaling of throughput proportional to array size, even for very large arrays, in fact essentially without limits. | 07-25-2013 |
