20110140333 | Devices and methods for holding an intraocular lens during the processing and packaging of the intraocular lens - A holder for an intraocular lens during the processing and packaging of the intraocular lens. The holder having an upper member having a base portion extending from the upper member along a first longitudinal axis. Additionally, the holder has a lower member having a receiving member defining a cavity for receiving the intraocular lens and a coupling member for engaging the base portion. The receiving member extending from the lower member along a second longitudinal axis and having at least one channel extending substantially through the receiving member that is substantially transverse to the second longitudinal axis. The holder has a locked position such that the upper and lower members are locked with respect to each other and at least one channel provides unobstructed access into the cavity of the receiving member for obtaining dimensional and optical measurements of the intraocular lens when the holder is in the locked position. | 06-16-2011 |

20100211169 | INTRAOCULAR LENS CONFIGURED TO OFFSET OPTICAL EFFECTS CAUSED BY OPTIC DEFORMATION - Intraocular lenses (IOLs) and related methods. One embodiment provides an IOL which includes a lens optic and a pair of haptics. The haptics can be coupled to the lens optic and can cause compression of the lens optic when the IOL is fixated in an eye. The lens optic can have a compressed geometry, an uncompressed geometry including an aberration, and a desired geometry. The compressed geometry can be the desired geometry. The aberration can be astigmatism, coma, or spherical aberration. For instance, the aberration can be astigmatism of about 0.17 D at the spectacle plane and of about 0.25 D at the intraocular lens plane. Moreover, the haptics can define a first axis between the haptics; the lens optic can define a second axis perpendicular to the first axis; and the uncompressed geometry can differ from the compressed geometry in the vicinity of the second axis. | 08-19-2010 |
