20090143570 | METHOD FOR ISOLATION OF GENOMIC DNA, RNA AND PROTEINS FROM A SINGLE SAMPLE - The invention provides systems, methods and kits for the separation and/or purification of at least two cellular components selected from genomic DNA, RNA and proteins. The method includes first lysing a biological sample to generate an aqueous solution containing the cellular components; then applying the aqueous solution to a first mineral support under conditions for genomic DNA to bind; and collecting the flowthrough which contains unbound total RNA and proteins. The method further includes applying the flowthrough to a second mineral support under conditions for RNA to bind, and collecting the flowthrough which contains proteins. The genomic DNA and total RNA bound can be eluted while the protein in the flowthrough can be further purified. Further the total RNA isolated could be used to isolate small RNA such as microRNA. | 06-04-2009 |

20110172405 | METHOD FOR SMALL RNA ISOLATION - This invention relates to a simple and rapid method for the extraction and purification of small RNA from a sample solution. Accordingly, a sample is first mixed with an organic solvent to form a mixture containing the solvent. The mixture is applied to a first mineral support for large RNA to bind. The filtrate is collected which contain unbound small RNA, and is mixed with a second organic solvent to form a second mixture containing the second solvent. This second mixture is applied to a second mineral support for small RNA to bind. After a wash step, the small RNA is eluted. Also provided is a method for the isolation of large RNA, by eluting the large RNA from the first mineral support. In addition, total protein is present in the filtrate and can be isolated by a conventional method. | 07-14-2011 |

20090082042 | SMS SPAM CONTROL - A system, apparatus, and method are directed towards managing abuse of text messages through controls on messages sent by an application to a mobile device (e.g., MT text messages). MT text messages sent from a defined application are intercepted by a Text Message SPAM Control Service (TMSCS). Various controls are determined for the sending application based on the application, level of user control on contents of the message, the user requesting the message to be sent (if any), and/or a destination address for the message. These controls may then be used in various combinations and/or various levels of constraint to determine whether to block transmission of the message to a destination mobile device. By monitoring messages from the application, abuse of the application may be minimized. | 03-26-2009 |

20100322210 | WIRELESS MULTIPOINT VOICE NETWORK - In general, a mobile unit for communicating with other mobile units assigned to a group within a Multipoint Voice Network (“MVN”) having a plurality of groups is shown. The mobile unit may include transmitter, receiver, and controller. The transmitter is enabled to transmit a set of multiple carrier frequencies, where the transmitter is configured to transmit on one frequency chosen from a sub-set of multiple carrier frequencies from the set of multiple carrier frequencies. The sub-set of multiple carrier frequencies corresponds to the group to which the mobile unit is assigned. The receiver is configured to receive and demodulate the sub-set of multiple carrier frequencies and the controller configures the receiver to receive and demodulate the sub-set of multiple carrier frequencies that is assigned to the group. | 12-23-2010 |

20150039572 | SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REMOVING OVERLAPPING RANGES FROM A FLAT SORTED DATA STRUCTURE - A system and method efficiently removes ranges of entries from a flat sorted data structure, such as a fingerprint database, of a storage system. The ranges of entries represent fingerprints that have become stale, i.e., are not representative of current states of corresponding blocks in the file system, due to various file system operations such as, e.g., deletion of a data block without overwriting its contents. A deduplication module of a file system executing on the storage system performs a fingerprint verification procedure to remove the stale fingerprints from the fingerprint database. As part of the fingerprint verification procedure, the deduplication module performs an attributes intersect range calculation (AIRC) procedure on the stale fingerprint data structure to compute a set of non-overlapping and latest consistency point (CP) ranges. During the AIRC procedure, an inode associated with a data container, e.g., a file, is selected and the FBN tuple of each deleted data block in the file is sorted in a predefined, e.g., increasing, FBN order. The AIRC procedure then identifies the most recent fingerprint associated with a deleted data block. The output from the AIRC procedure, i.e., the set of non-overlapping and latest CP ranges, is then used to remove stale fingerprints associated with that deleted block (as well as each other deleted data block) from the fingerprint database. Notably, only a single pass through the fingerprint database is required to identify the set of non-overlapping and latest CP ranges, thereby improving efficiency of the storage system. | 02-05-2015 |
