20090313722Novel Bacillus Thuringiensis Gene with Lepidopteran Activity - The invention provides nucleic acids, and variants and fragments thereof, obtained from strains of 2009-12-17
20090313723Methods for altering organ mass, controlling fertility and enhancing asexual reproduction in plants - The invention provides methods of altering organ mass, controlling fertility and enhancing asexual reproduction in plants through the modulation of plant growth and cell proliferation. The methods involve producing transgenic plants comprising a recombinant expression cassette containing an ANT nucleic acid linked to a plant promoter.2009-12-17
20090313724Alteration of Flowering Time in Plants - The present invention provides genetic identification and use information about a family of genes, the FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) genes, that is part of the regulate the timing of the onset of flowering in plants. This information enables creation of transgenic plants in which the timing of the flowering of the plants has been selectively altered. Since these genes natively act to delay the time of flowering in plants, enhancing activity of the FLC protein delays the timing of flowering initiation while inhibiting the activity of FLC advances the timing of the start of flowering. A representative number of samples of the gene family are described. Members of the gene family are demonstrated to work in other plant species as well.2009-12-17
20090313725Gibberellin 2-Oxidase Genes And Uses Thereof - Novel gibberellin 2-oxidase (GA2ox) genes were identified. Differential expression of GA2ox genes correlated with flower development, seed germination, tiller growth and other developmental processes. In addition, the early and increased growth of tiller and adventitious root and altered root architecture caused by overexpression of GA2oxs further suggest the pleiotropic role of GA2oxs in controlling growth and architecture in plants such as rice. GA2ox5, GA2ox6 and GA2ox9 were three genes encoding class C20 GA2oxs in rice. Mutants or transgenic rice overexpressing class C20 GA2oxs exhibited a broad range of mutant phenotypes, including semi-dwarfism, increased root system and higher tiller numbers that may favor grain yield. Mutations in the conserved domain III were found to affect the physiological activity of class C20 GA2oxs.2009-12-17
20090313726ABIOTIC STRESS TOLERANT GENE FROM AVICENNIA MARINA ENCODING A PROTEIN - The present invention relates to an abiotic stress tolerant transgenic plant comprising an Am244 DNA from 2009-12-17
20090313727Nucleic acid molecules and other molecules associated with the sucrose pathway - The present invention is in the field of plant biochemistry. More specifically the invention relates to nucleic acid sequences from plant cells, in particular, nucleic acid sequences from maize and soybean plants associated with the sucrose pathway. The invention encompasses nucleic acid molecules that encode proteins and fragments of proteins. In addition, the invention also encompasses proteins and fragments of proteins so encoded and antibodies capable of binding these proteins or fragments. The invention also relates to methods of using the nucleic acid molecules, proteins and fragments of proteins and antibodies, for example for genome mapping, gene identification and analysis, plant breeding, preparation of constructs for use in plant gene expression and transgenic plants.2009-12-17
20090313728Polynucleotides Encoding Lignin Biosynthetic Pathway Enzymes in Coffee - Polynucleotides encoding polypeptides that comprise the biosynthetic pathway for lignins in the coffee plant are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for using these polynucleotides and polypeptides for the manipulation of flavor, aroma, and other features of coffee beans, as well as the manipulation resistance to pathogen, herbivore, and insect attack in the coffee plant.2009-12-17
20090313729SCAN TYPE PROBE MICROSCOPE AND CANTILEVER DRIVE DEVICE - A driving laser unit (2009-12-17
20090313730METHOD FOR COST-EFFICIENT MANUFACTURING DIAMOND TIPS FOR ULTRA-HIGH RESOLUTION ELECTRICAL MEASUREMENTS AND DEVICES OBTAINED THEREOF - An atomic force microscopy probe configuration and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. In one aspect, the probe configuration includes a cantilever, and a planar tip attached to the cantilever. The cantilever only partially overlaps the planar tip, and extends along a longitudinal direction thereof. The planar tip is of a two-dimensional geometry having at least one corner remote from the cantilever, which corner during use contacts a surface to be scanned.2009-12-17
