20080285847Dynamo color coding system to validate, authenticate goods and services - Dynamo Color Coding System (DCCS) is a dynamic real time database and color-coding system that has uniquely been combined into a single web based application. The purpose of the DCCS is to give Producers an efficient mechanism to track, validate and authenticate their goods and services as they travel through the supply chain. The attributes for the data to be coded are defined real time and are virtually unlimited. Once the attributes are defined the data is entered using alphanumeric, characters or images into the system and processed through the encoder. The encoder is uses MDCT and Vector Quantization technology, along with the Mobis function. While the data is being processed through the encoder a time stamp and reference number is embedded into the code for authentication. Once encoded a label is created with the color code, the vector of the code and the color space vector. The application can create the code in many shapes that include honeycomb, squares, circles, PDF417 Barcode. The decoding process requires a secure log in and has 3 levels of validation 1) color plus interleave, 2) space decoding and 3) background and foreground color match. The device used for decoding includes RF Reader, digital camera, scanner or any other digital reading device. In addition, the code can be encapsulated into RFID chips, I Buttons or any other device. The verification is done through reading the code with a device and logging into the secure web site. The system conducts a match between the image that was read and the image stored in the database. The data and code are stored in a centralized repository. Dynamo Color Coding System is easy to incorporate into the existing manufacturing and supply chain pipeline and is easy to decode using any digital input device capable of capturing a digital image of the DCCS pattern. This easy to read mechanism will provide a budget alternate to expensive Bar Code scanners and readers, although they will continue to operate by upgrading their software with DCCS based decoders. It is also compatible to verity of printers from laser, inkjet, expensive label printers etc. due to generic in nature its inclusion in the goods and services pipeline will not only reduce the cost but will provide an auditable tracking mechanism.2008-11-20
20080285848METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING COLOR IN MACHINE AND COMPUTER VISION APPLICATIONS - A method for identifying color in a target creates a ratio color space by determining the largest color component value of each pixel in an image and creating a ratio of all of the color component value with the largest component value for each pixel. The system then determines the extent to which each inserted characteristic will be useful in future recognition and determines its relative weight. After the initial insertion of data, the operator tests the system with a set of new images, some of which contain the class objects and some of which contain similar and/or dissimilar objects of different classification. The system learns from the images containing similar objects of different classes as well as from the images containing the class objects, since each specific class characteristic needs to be set apart from other class characteristic. The system may be tested and trained again and again until the operator is satisfied with the system's success rate of object recognition and classification.2008-11-20

20080285862Probabilistic Boosting Tree Framework For Learning Discriminative Models - A probabilistic boosting tree framework for computing two-class and multi-class discriminative models is disclosed. In the learning stage, the probabilistic boosting tree (PBT) automatically constructs a tree in which each node combines a number of weak classifiers (e.g., evidence, knowledge) into a strong classifier or conditional posterior probability. The PBT approaches the target posterior distribution by data augmentation (e.g., tree expansion) through a divide-and-conquer strategy. In the testing stage, the conditional probability is computed at each tree node based on the learned classifier which guides the probability propagation in its sub-trees. The top node of the tree therefore outputs the overall posterior probability by integrating the probabilities gathered from its sub-trees. In the training stage, a tree is recursively constructed in which each tree node is a strong classifier. The input training set is divided into two new sets, left and right ones, according to the learned classifier. Each set is then used to train the left and right sub-trees recursively.2008-11-20
