20100095404 | Use of Nematode Chitinase Genes to Control Plant Parasitic Nematodes - The invention provides transgenic plants with increased nematode resistance which comprise a polynucleotide that encodes a nematode chitinase, seeds of such transgenic plants, expression vectors comprising polynucleotides encoding nematode chitinases, and methods for conferring nematode resistance to crop plants. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095405 | NUCLEIC ACID CONSTRUCTS AND METHODS FOR ALTERING PLANT FIBER LENGTH AND/OR PLANT HEIGHT - Nucleic acid constructs and methods are disclosed for modifying fiber length, plant height, and/or plant biomass in plant tissues. Plants are genetically engineered with constructs encoding an | 2010-04-15 |
20100095406 | Method of Controlling Plant Growth and Architecture by Controlling Expression of Gibberellin 2-Oxidase - Novel gibberellin 2-oxidase (GA2ox) genes were identified. Differential expression of GA2ox genes correlated with flower development, seed germination, tiller growth and other developmental processes. In addition, the early and increased growth of tiller and adventitious root and altered root architecture caused by overexpression of GA2oxs further suggest the pleiotropic role of GA2oxs in controlling growth and architecture in plants such as rice. GA2ox5, GA2ox6 and GA2ox9 were three genes encoding class C20 GA2oxs in rice. Mutants or transgenic rice overexpressing class C20 GA2oxs exhibited a broad range of mutant phenotypes, including semi-dwarfism, increased root system and higher tiller numbers that may favor grain yield. Mutations in the conserved domain III were found to affect the physiological activity of class C20 GA2oxs. Methods are described for controlling plant growth and architecture by controlling gene expression of gibberellin 2-oxidase in the plant. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095407 | PAC 941 - A new and distinct plum almond hybrid cultivar for rootstock use that originated as an open pollinated seedling as provided. This new invention (cultivar) is particularly well suited for use as a plum, peach, nectarine, apricot and almond rootstock. It is found that this new invention (cultivar) exhibits good root anchorage as well as a significantly reduced tendency to form unwanted suckers. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095408 | Anti-Pathogen Systems - Provided is a system for protecting plants from attack by pests, including pathogens such as fungi. Specifically, a plant defensin is provided in conjunction with a protease inhibitor protects a plant from pest attack or reduces severity of an attack. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095409 | METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN SPM PROBE WITH A SCANNING TIP AND WITH AN ALIGNMENT AID LOCATED OPPOSITE THE SCANNING TIP - A method of manufacturing an SPM probe having a support element, a cantilever, and a scanning tip on an underside of the cantilever, and having a mark located on the top side of the cantilever opposite the scanning tip. The mark on the top side of the cantilever is located exactly opposite the scanning tip on the underside of the cantilever. This makes it possible to identify the exact position of the scanning tip in the scanning probe microscope from the upward-pointing top side of the cantilever, which significantly simplifies the alignment of the SPM probe. The support element with the cantilever may be prefabricated conventionally and the scanning tip and the mark are then produced on the cantilever in a self-aligning way by means of a particle-beam-induced material deposition based on a gas-induced process. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095410 | Rose plant named 'Benrave' - This new rose plant is of a medium size and upright growing habit. It bears its flowers initially one to a stem. The upper surfaces of the petals noticeably change colors as the flower opens and matures. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095411 | Hybrid tea rose plant named 'Pink Promise' - A new variety of Hybrid Tea suitable for garden decoration, having flowers of pink coloration. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095412 | Floribunda rose plant named 'Wekgojolo' - A new variety of Floribunda rose suitable for garden decoration, having flowers of neon yellow coloration. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095413 | Floribunda rose plant named 'Meirysett' - A new and distinct Floribunda rose plant is provided which forms in abundance attractive blossoms that are deep greyed-purple on the upper surface and ocher yellow on the under surface. Such flower coloration is considered to be rather unusual. The greyed-purple petal coloration on the upper surface is so dark that it sometimes appears to be almost black upon casual observation. The plant exhibits strong vegetation, a semi-erect growth habit, and dark green foliage with a glossy upper surface. The disease tolerance is good particularly with respect to Oidium. The new variety is well suited for growing as attractive ornamentation in parks and gardens. | 2010-04-15 |
20100095414 | Blueberry variety named 'Hortblue Poppins' - A new and distinct Northern Highbush blueberry variety is described. The variety results from selection among a population of seedlings derived from crossing the blueberry variety known as ‘Nui’ (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 6,699) and an unnamed seedling selection called 1386 (not patented). The fruit of this new variety has an attractive appearance characterised by outstanding fruit quality with a good bloom and good firmness; the plant has a characteristic upright habit, good architecture and attractive foliage. The new variety has been named ‘Hortblue Poppins’. | 2010-04-15 |
