20080255375 | Alkenylsuccinic Anhydrides Formed From Oligomers Of C4-To C8-Olefins And Maleic Anhydride, Processes For Their Preparation And Their Use - Alkenylsuccinic anhydrides obtainable by reaction of maleic anhydride with mixtures of oligomers having at least 12 carbon atoms which are obtainable by oligomerization of a hydrocarbon mixture which comprises at least two olefins having 4 to 8 carbon atoms over a catalyst which comprises a transition metal, processes for the preparation of the alkenylsuccinic anhydrides and their use as sizes in the production of paper, board and cardboard. | 10-16-2008 |
20100234621 | PROCESS FOR REACTING AN ALPHA, BETA-UNSATURATED DICARBOXYLIC ACID COMPOUND WITH AN ETHYLENICALLY UNSATURATED HYDROCARBON - The invention provides an improved method of synthesizing chemicals according to the ene reaction. The method addresses two problems that previously could not be addressed simultaneously, preventing charring of the reaction, and preventing gaseous degradation of the reagents. The method involves adding a boron bearing compound and an aromatic/antioxidant compound to the ene reaction. Combining these two compounds together inhibits charring and also causes an effect that neither compound can accomplish alone. The addition of these two compounds together also more effectively prevents either of the reagents from degrading than when either reagent is added alone. As a result the method reduces costs by reducing the amount of reagents needed for a synthesis and further reduces costs by eliminating the need to filter out char from the end products of the ene reaction. The method is particularly useful in the ene reaction synthesis of ASA from olefins and maleic anhydride. | 09-16-2010 |
20110275837 | Waxes Having High Polarity and the Use Thereof as Slip Agents for Chlorine-Containing Thermoplastics - Copolymer waxes, characterized by an iodine number of <15, preferably <13 g of iodine/100 g, a viscosity at 100° C. ranging between 200 to 4000 mPa*s, a dropping point ranging between 60 to 90° C., a ram penetration hardness ranging between 200 to 600 bar, an acid number ranging between 60 to 100 mg of KOH/g, and an iodine color number<10. The copolymer waxes according to the invention are suited in particular as processing aids for PVC, polyvinylidene chloride and copolymers of vinyl chloride, having up to 30% by weight comonomers. | 11-10-2011 |
20160060552 | POLYALKYL SUCCINIC ANHYDRIDE DERIVATIVES AS ADDITIVES FOR FOULING MITIGATION IN PETROLEUM REFINERY PROCESSES - The present invention provides a method for reducing fouling, including particulate-induced fouling, in a hydrocarbon refining process including the steps of providing a crude hydrocarbon for a refining process; adding at least one polyalkyl succinic anhydride derivative additive disclosed herein. The additive can be complexed with a boronating agent, such as boric acid, to yield a boron-containing polyalkyl succinic anhydride derivative. | 03-03-2016 |
