20080305696AQUATIC EXERCISE ROWING MACHINE - A floating exercise rowing machine with two elongated floating assemblies that are kept at a parallel and spaced apart relationship with respect to each other by two transversal frame assemblies and a longitudinally extending frame assembly. The frame assemblies support a seat assembly mounted at the middle of the floating exercise machine. A propulsion mechanism that includes a bar that is pivotally mounted to the frame assembly with a coaxially extending actuating end that moves reciprocally between two extreme positions to cause, through linkage arms, the rotation of sprockets that in turn impart a rotational movement to a transversal axle that supports two paddle wheels at the ends. A steering mechanism permits a user to steer the floating machine with his/her hands.12-11-2008

20090061703Manually Operated Propelling Device - A propelling device includes a driving unit disposed in a housing. The driving unit includes first and second bevel gears connected coaxially and respectively to upper and lower ends of a vertical driving shaft, a third bevel gear disposed on and co-rotatable with a transverse driving shaft and meshing with the first bevel gear, and a fourth bevel gear connected fixedly and coaxially to a front end of a longitudinal driving shaft and meshing with the second bevel gear. An impeller is disposed on a rear end of the longitudinal driving shaft extending outside the housing, and is co-rotatable with the longitudinal driving shaft. Two operating crank members are connected fixedly and respectively to opposite ends of the transverse driving shaft, and are co-rotatable with the transverse driving shaft.03-05-2009
20080311803PEDALING APPARATUS - The present invention is pedaling apparatus (PA) for a watery environment. The PA may comprise a supporting body connected to at least one pedal. At least part of the supporting body supports the carrying of a user's weight. Part of the body and the position of the pedal in relation to said body may be designed to support the user's weight and to maintain the pedals' rotation movement inside the water throughout the span of the rotation movement, once the user applies his/her weight upon the PA.12-18-2008
20090258550Ergonomic Pedaling Apparatus - An ergonomic pedaling apparatus for travel in water, enabling a user to practice swimming skills, comprising: an ergonomic supporting body for supporting the upper part of the user's body when frontally mounted over the body, where the body includes a curved triangular structure having three vertices constructed by three connected chassis members; three floatation units each connected to a separate vertex of the body; and a pedaling assembly comprising two scooped pedals enabling the user to progress in water by hand pedaling the pedals. The floatation units include: a first and a second back floatation units each comprising a float, where the floatability of the back floatation units is substantially equal and a third front floatation unit comprising two float parts vertically positioned one on top of the other. The floatability of the combined floats of the third floatation unit may be substantially equal to the floatability of each of the back floatation units.10-15-2009
20110159751Pedal propulsion system - A pedal propulsion system for a transportation conveyance comprises a pedal drive assembly having a teethed synchronous drive belt engaged between a drive sprocket and a transfer sprocket. The rotational axes of the transfer sprocket and the drive sprocket are oriented at an angle of up to 90 degrees from one another. The rotation of the transfer sprocket is conveyed to a propeller drive assembly mounted at the rear of a water craft by an elongated rotary shaft and a flexible transmission drive cable to facilitate removable of the propulsion system from the transportation conveyance.06-30-2011

20080233813WATER CRAFT DRIVEN BY HUMAN-POWERED LAND VEHICLE - A human-powered land vehicle, such as a bicycle, is mountable to a collapsible water craft having a compact drive unit which can be pivoted about two orthogonal axes, one for directing the thrust for steering the craft, the other for raising or lowering the thrust assembly. The drive unit is releasably mountable to the frame of the vehicle and is connected in use to receive torque from the crank, for instance by an endless chain, and by a remote linkage to the handlebars, or like steering device of the vehicle.09-25-2008
440032000 Lever with connecting linkage 1
20120058693Device for Pedal Powering a Watercraft - The present invention is a device affording foot-powered propulsion of a watercraft by an occupant. The device consists of two levers, each with a shaft, serving as a fulcrum. When mounted on a host craft the force arms extend above the deck or floor of the vessel and each has a pedal attached to their end. The resistance arms extend beneath the hull of the craft and each has a folding paddle attached. The levers are linked so that pushing one pedal away from the operator forces the other pedal towards the operator. A back-and-forth pedaling motion moves the folding paddle blades, propelling the vessel. Direction of propulsion can be reversed by rotating the paddles 180 degrees. The invention is intended to be mounted to a watercraft, such as, a kayak that has been specifically designed for or altered to accept the device.03-08-2012
