20080252100 | ROOF RACK CROSS BAR RISE UP FEATURE - A roof rack having movable cross bars that have a low profile when aligned with the side bars, but are raised when generally perpendicular to the side bars. The height variation is achieved using ribs that are provided on a bottom side of the cross bars. When the cross bars are aligned with the side bars, the ribs fit into slots that are provided in the side bars. As a result, each cross bar has a very low profile with respect to the roof of the vehicle. When each cross bar is rotated to a position generally perpendicular to the side bars, the ribs within the cross bar are no longer aligned with the slots in the side bar. Instead, the ribs rest on an upper surface of the side bar, and thus, provide a significant gap between the cross bar and vehicle roof. | 10-16-2008 |
20090230727 | ROOF ASSEMBLY FOR A STORAGE CONTAINER - A roof assembly is provided for a storage container having two opposing side walls that together define a length of the storage container. The roof assembly includes a plurality of roof panels arranged atop and between the two opposing side walls along the length of the storage container in side-by-side relationship. Each of the plurality of roof panels has opposite sides and opposite ends. Each of the opposite ends of the plurality of roof panels is configured to be secured to a top of a corresponding one of the two opposing side walls of the storage container. Each of the opposite sides of each of the plurality of roof panels is configured to be attached to the side of an adjacent one of the plurality of roof panels. | 09-17-2009 |
20100201154 | Cap For Pickup Truck Bed - A cap for the cargo bed of a pickup truck assembled on the truck including a base support frame comprised of a pair of parallel side by side slotted side guide rails and a hoop support frame pivotally mounted to each of the opposite ends of the side guide rails so as to able to be swung up to an erect position after the base support frame is installed on the pickup truck cargo bed side walls. An elongated slotted top guide rail is connected at either end to the top of each hoop support frame. Flexible side panels are inserted in respective slots on the side guide rails and top guide rail assuming a convex shape to cover the cargo bed. End panels close off either end of the cap, a rear panel may be hinged to the rear hoop support frame to be operable and may be transparent to provide a window. The hoop support frames and end panels may be adjustable in width to be matched to the cargo bed width. The cap can be collapsed into a tonneau cover by lowering the hoop support frames and the flexible side panels overly overlapping each other. | 08-12-2010 |
20110169301 | TRAILER ROOF HAVING IMPROVED SUPPORT STRUCTURE - A trailer includes a pair of vertical, spaced apart opposing sidewalls and a roof sheet extending between and mounted atop the sidewalls. The sidewalls and roof sheet cooperate to define a cargo space. The roof sheet has an interior surface facing the cargo space and an opposing exterior surface. A plurality of bows are mounted to the exterior surface of the roof sheet and extend between the sidewalls. The plurality of bows support the roof sheet. Each bow includes at least three contact portions attached to the exterior surface of the roof sheet. A rib portion interconnects the contact portions and defines a channel between the rib portion and the exterior surface of the roof sheet. | 07-14-2011 |
20110221232 | Method and Apparatus for Improving the Damage-Resistance of Container Body Top Rails - Various embodiments of an improved top rail for a container body, e.g. a truck body, are disclosed. In exemplary embodiments, a support structure is disposed at least partially within a channel of the top rail to provide increased strength to the top rail and to protect the top rail and container body from damage. Examples of support structures include support blocks, such as composite blocks, and support rails, such as metal rails. In an exemplary embodiment, a low-profile light source can be installed on the top rail and/or the support structure. | 09-15-2011 |
20110260500 | ROOF ASSEMBLY FOR STORAGE CONTAINER - A roof assembly for a storage container, such as a truck trailer, includes a sheet having a plurality of laterally-extending corrugations formed therein. Illustratively, each corrugation is configured to progressively flatten outwardly from a longitudinal centerline of the roof assembly towards an outer end of the sheet. The longitudinal centerline of the roof assembly extends perpendicular to each corrugation. The outer end of the sheet is configured to be coupled to a sidewall of the truck trailer. | 10-27-2011 |
20120161471 | TRAILER ROOF INSTALLATION ASSEMBLY - A trailer roof assembly includes a horizontal roof member and a vertical wall member. An arcuate member is connected on a first end with the vertical wall member and on a second end with the horizontal roof member. The arcuate roof member includes a nub that extends outwardly and abuts the horizontal roof member. A fastener extends through the horizontal roof member and the arcuate member into a channel disposed on an underside of the arcuate member. A trim piece is disposed in the channel hiding the fastener from view. | 06-28-2012 |
20120175911 | COLLAPSIBLE BASE SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR PICKUP TRUCK CARGO BED AND TONNEAU COVER - A base support assembly for the cargo bed of a pickup truck mounted on the truck including a pair of parallel side by side slotted side guide rails installed on a respective cargo bed sidewall and a pair of U-shaped end support frames each having a pair of legs pivotally mounted to each of the opposite ends of the side guide rails so as to able to be swung up to an erect position or lowered down position after the base support assembly is installed on the pickup truck cargo bed side walls. An elongated slotted top guide rail may be connected at either end to the top of each end support frame. The end frames can be collapsed into a support for a rigid tonneau cover by lowering the end support frames. | 07-12-2012 |
