20080308780 | SECURITY FENCE SYSTEM - A security fence system provides one or more lengths of fence and/or one or more gates, at least one of which includes at least one generally horizontal cable, and preferably earth anchors that secure the at least one cable to the ground. The security fence and/or gates preferably include one or more of the following features: little or no concrete; strong and damage-resistant fence panels that allow authorities to see fairly well through the fence; resistance to prying or otherwise tearing the fence panel away from the posts; resistance to vehicles ramming the fence; or manual and/or automatic gates that are resistant to vehicles ramming the gate(s) and that cooperate with the cable system of the preferred fence. Cables approaching the gate, from the fence, may meet and be secured to each other at a location along the gate. Alternatively, automatically-locking gates may include a hook and loop system that engages only when a ramming vehicle pushes and/or bends the gate. The preferred fence and/or gates has some flexibility and bendability, and may be described as catching a ramming vehicle in a net-like system rather than providing a rigid wall that attempts to immediately stop the vehicle; this allows for a much lighter and simple gate than those intended to remain rigid and immovable upon vehicle impact. The preferred fencing and/or gates do not require the large amounts of concrete typically used for anchoring conventional security fences and/or gates, and, therefore, the preferred fencing and/or gates do not require the time-consuming, disruptive, and expensive excavation and concrete work of conventional security installations. | 12-18-2008 |
20090032791 | High Impact Resistant Barrier/Fence - A barrier is disclosed which includes a connected pair of upstanding and equidistantly spaced first and second walls which together define a channel having a bottom and an open top. Dirt or rock fill (or fill of any other non-vegetative material) is poured into or otherwise placed in the channel between the walls to cover the bottom of the channel and at least partially fill the channel. The area of the channel containing the fill may be lined with geo-textile material to help contain the fill. | 02-05-2009 |
20090194753 | Fence Post with Selectively Covered, Molded Channel - Disclosed is a fence post with selectively covered, molded channels for use in modular fences. The post includes at least one longitudinally-extending channel that is covered by the exterior surface of a side of the fence post in such a way that channel is not visible from the exterior of the fence post until the covering portion of the fence post is cut away, in whole or in part, to make the channel accessible. The channel cover may be removed, in whole or in part, to allow longitudinal ends of pickets to be slid into the channel, either horizontally or vertically according to the selected portion of the channel cover that is removed. In this way, one fence post design may be used to stably support pickets connected on any of the sides of the post while leaving the other sides smooth in external appearance. | 08-06-2009 |
20090194754 | Gate Post Stiffener - A gate post stiffener being formed in the shape of a C. The C-shaped stiffener may extend the entire length of the gate post. The open side allows for easy insertion of rails. The C-shape provides two consecutive sides for the attachment of two-sided hardware, providing a strong connection between the post, the C-shaped gate post stiffener, and hardware, which is critical to the integrity of the post. | 08-06-2009 |
20090321698 | Panel Fence System and Method - In certain embodiments, a fence system includes a support member and a rail attached to the support member such that the rail extends across the support member. The fence system further includes a first panel and a second panel each comprising a primary panel portion having a first edge and a second edge. A first flange is located along at least a portion of the first edge of the primary panel portion, and a second flange is located along at least a portion of the second edge of the primary panel portion. The first and second panels are secured to the rail such that the second edge of the primary panel portion of the first panel is adjacent to the first edge of the primary panel portion of the second panel. The second flange of the first panel is matingly coupled to the first flange of the second panel. | 12-31-2009 |

20100295007 | SAFETY BARRIERS - The present invention relates to safety barriers, and in particular, for use around the perimeter of building floors during construction of a building. In one form, the present invention provides a safety barrier module for use in erecting a fenced-off zone around the perimeter of a building floor during construction of a building, the safety barrier module including: a barrier panel for inhibiting the passage of workers or objects from the building floor to the ground below; and at least one counterweighted footing block for receiving a support post connected to the barrier panel, the footing block arranged to rest on the building floor and to counteract loads and forces on the barrier panel to support the barrier panel in a substantially upright position relative to the building floor; wherein the barrier panel is geometrically shaped to extend from a predetermined height down to substantially the building floor level. | 11-25-2010 |
20110031458 | COMPACT STACKABLE FENCE SUPPORT - A stackable barrier including a generally planar fence portion and a plurality of generally identical supports, supporting the generally planar fence portion, each of the generally identical supports including a generally triangular main planar portion and a pair of oppositely directed side portions which extend in respective planes angled with respect to main planar portion, each of the plurality of generally identical supports being arranged with respect to the generally planar fence portion such that planes of the main planar portion of at least two of the generally identical supports are not mutually parallel. | 02-10-2011 |
20120091412 | SECURITY BARRIER SYSTEM - A security barrier system includes a security barrier unit including a first panel group, a second panel group, a connecting member for connecting the first panel group and the second panel group. The first and second panel groups are disposed substantially in parallel and face each other. Each of the first and second panel groups includes one or more sub-panel groups, each of which includes barrier panels arranged in line, intermediate members each disposed between adjacent barrier panels, rope tubes and ropes. Each barrier panel has a front face, a rear face and side faces and has channels passing through from one side face to another side face. The rope tubes are disposed in the channels, respectively, so that the rope tubes pass through the barrier panels and the intermediate members. The barrier panels and the intermediate members are connected by the ropes disposed in the rope tubes. | 04-19-2012 |
20130153843 | DO-IT-YOURSELF FENCE - A sectional fence wherein each section is stand-alone and designed to be assembled and/or disassembled without tools and packaged individually such that each section can be stored and transported as a unit without the need for auxiliary equipment. | 06-20-2013 |
