20120234748HIGH TEMPERATURE TREATED MEDIA - A thermally bonded filtration media that can be used in high temperature conditions in the absence of any loss of fiber through thermal effects or mechanical impact on the fiber components is disclosed. The filter media can be manufactured and used in a filter unit or structure, can be placed in a stream of removable fluid, and can remove a particulate load from the mobile stream at an increased temperature range. The combination of bi-component fiber, other filter media fiber, and other filtration additives provides an improved filtration media having unique properties in high temperature, high performance applications.09-20-2012
20100089818DEVICE FOR PURIFYING GASES, SUCH AS AIR IN PARTICULAR, OR LIQUIDS, SUCH AS WATER IN PARTICULAR - Device for purifying gases, such as air in particular, or liquids, such as water in particular, in which use is made of micro-organisms. The device comprises a chamber (04-15-2010

20090211965ARRANGEMENT FOR SPLICING PANELS TOGETHER TO FORM A CYLINDRICAL SCREEN - Panels of a filter screen have a plurality of rods and a plurality of wires. The rods are arranged parallel to one another in a first direction. The wires are arranged parallel to one another and are attached in a perpendicular direction to the rods. The rods have jointed ends with a tab and a bevel along one edge of the panels and have flush ends along an opposite edge of the panels. The panels are connected together edge to edge in an elongated sheet by adjoining the jointed and the flush ends of the rods and then welding a plurality of splice bars alternatingly between adjacent ones of the rods at the joints. The elongated sheet is then rolled into a cylindrical tier that can be used as a portion of a basket, centerpipe or other cylindrical screen for a radial flow process or the like.08-27-2009
20120031833SYSTEMS, COMPOSITIONS, AND METHODS FOR FLUID PURIFICATION - Disclosed herein are membranes comprising a substrate, a support layer, and a selective layer. In some embodiments the membrane may further comprise a permeable layer. Methods of forming membranes are also disclosed comprising forming a support layer on a substrate, removing adsorbed species from the support layer, preparing a solution containing inorganic materials of a selective layer, contacting the support layer with the solution, drying the membrane, and exposing the membrane to rapid thermal processing. Also disclosed are methods of fluid purification comprising providing a membrane having a feed side and a permeable side, passing a fluid mixture across the feed side of the membrane, providing a driving force for transmembrane permeation, removing from the permeate side a permeate stream enriched in a purified fluid, and withdrawing from the feed side a fluid that is depleted in a purified fluid.02-09-2012
20120241371Membranes having aligned 1-D nanoparticles in a matrix layer for improved fluid separation - Membranes for fluid separation are disclosed. These membranes have a matrix layer sandwiched between an active layer and a porous support layer. The matrix layer includes 1-D nanoparticles that are vertically aligned in a porous polymer matrix, and which substantially extend through the matrix layer. The active layer provides species-specific transport, while the support layer provides mechanical support. A matrix layer of this type has favorable surface morphology for forming the active layer. Furthermore, the pores that form in the matrix layer tend to be smaller and more evenly distributed as a result of the presence of aligned 1-D nanoparticles. Improved performance of separation membranes of this type is attributed to these effects.09-27-2012
20120118813FILTRATION MEMBRANE HAVING IMPROVED RESISTANCE TO ABRASIONS - The subject of the invention is a membrane for the cross-flow filtration of a fluid to be treated that contains abrasive particles, comprising a porous support covered over part of its surface with a separation layer having a pore diameter smaller than that of the support, over which the fluid to be treated flows, characterized in that the separation layer includes an agent for protection from the abrasive particles.05-17-2012
20130008848FILTER COMPRISING STACKABLE FILTER WAFERS WITH FILTERING CHANNELS ON OPPOSING SIDES OF THE WAFERS - A filter comprises a stack of wafers (01-10-2013
