The ground contact tip contains a connecting portion and a base portion that is opposite the connecting portion. A flexible core connects between the base portion and the connecting portion. At least one limiting ring is positioned on the flexible core. The elongate member is permitted to rotate through a range of angles while the flexible core allows the base portion to remain flat against the ground. At the maximum allowable angle, the limiting rings allow the ground contact tip to cease flexing and become rigid, so that the user can push against the ground at an angle, while the base portion remains flat against the ground.03-28-2013
20130032185CANE TIP AND CANE - Provided is a cane tip which is difficult to slip, exhibiting excellent shock absorbing properties when contacted with the ground; with which the cane tip will not stick in a crevice of a stone pavement; and further, with which the influence of the supporting surface inclination can be suppressed, whereby the walking stability is assured also for an aged user; and which is also well suited for use in rehabilitation. Cane tip has a cane tip main body with leg segments radially extending from a central part, being arranged in an overall shape substantially analogous to that of the five petals of a five-petaled flower, the central part and each leg segment having an elastic structure part exerting an elastic action, a bolt inserting hole in the central part of the elastic structure part, and a bolt inserted into this bolt hole and protruded from that central part.02-07-2013

20080223424Upper arm crutch - The invention, referred to as the Upper Arm Crutch, pertains to crutches used by the disabled to facilitate walking. The Upper Arm Crutch allows the user's weight to be supported with the arm straight, reducing fatigue. The design of the arm band is such that the arm band will not inadvertently slip off the arm, yet can be removed readily by rotating the crutch handle 45 degrees in either direction. The single arm band encloses the upper arm, instead of the forearm, increasing leverage and control. The single arm band is positioned well below the armpit. The user is not inclined to support their weight by leaning on the arm bands. The design of the arm band allows the user's arm to be positioned directly above the handle such that the crutch does not tilt when weight is applied to the handle.09-18-2008
20090199885SHOULDER SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR AN ADJUSTABLE MULTI-PURPOSE CRUTCH - The invention is a shoulder support for a crutch having a pair of upper tubes that slide inside a pair of lower tubes. The shoulder support includes tube caps that are supported at a top of the upper tubes and a channel section positioned between the tube caps and attached to the tube caps by a bolt. A shoulder spring is bent into a bow-tie shape with two loops and a narrow portion. A crutch user positions his underarm atop the shoulder spring to support his weight, and the shoulder spring loops deflect outwardly when a user bears his weight on the crutch. The shoulder support includes a resilient shoulder pad that covers the shoulder spring to protect skin beneath arms of the user from scraping and chafing. Two rivets secure the narrow portion of the shoulder spring to the channel section at a top of the channel section.08-13-2009

20100206348Crutch - The crutch includes a lower pole with a handgrip near the upper end thereof, and may include a forearm cuff above the handgrip in the case of a forearm type crutch. The distance between cuff and handgrip is adjustable, as is the lower pole length. A resilient limb or bow is rigidly affixed to the lower end of the pole, with its upper attachment end being rearwardly offset from the pole. This results in a forward torque or moment when the user applies a downward force upon the crutch during use, thereby assisting the user in forward travel. The lower or distal end of the limb also absorbs shock for the crutch user when the limb contacts the underlying surface. The springback of the limb returns a considerable portion of the energy imparted by the user as weight was applied to the crutch, thereby facilitating user mobility.08-19-2010
