20090193663Folding knife with a hollow handle for fastening an item therein - A folding knife comprises a blade and a handle, wherein the handle is formed by bending a metal sheet into a shape of inverted U-section for clamping an item (e.g., a lighter) therein and comprises a latch formed by punching on one side thereof adjacent to the receiving space in a direction opposite to the receiving space. The blade has one end pivotably secured to one end of the other side of the handle having the latch and the one end of the blade is lockingly fastened by the latch when the blade is in its opened position. The blade is unfastened when a predetermined pressing force is exerted on the latch toward the receiving space such that the blade may pivotably retract onto the other side of the handle. Thus, the folding knife can be mounted with the item (e.g., the lighter) for the functions of cutting and lighting.08-06-2009
20100083507Folding Knife Locking Mechanism With Carrier Device - A folding knife locking mechanism is provided which maintains the open and closed positions associated with the folding knife. A resilient locking arm has a first end fixed inside to the handle and a second end extending slantingly toward the blade when the blade is received in the handle. A positioning plate is movably positioned in the handle, and has a first end extending outside to the handle. Once the blade is received in the handle, the positioning plate engages with the resilient locking arm. However, when the blade is rotated out of the handle completely, the second end of the resilient locking arm presses against the end of the blade in a locked position, and thereby the positioning plate disengages with the resilient locking arm and presses against the resilient locking arm to avoid the blade from being out of the locked position and rotated into the handle.07-19-2012

A control button coupled to the rocker element allows a user to move the rocker element from the locked position to the unlocked position and to move the lock plate towards the disengaged position to thereby release a blade of the knife.11-26-2009
20120291292Folding knife with safety switch - The present invention relates to a folding knife having a blade pivotally connected to a handle and a positioning device including a resilient plate and a positioning element, wherein the positioning element has a middle section pivotally connected in the handle, and the resilient plate has a first end fixed in the handle and a second end movably pressing against a first end of the positioning element and thereby causing a second end of the positioning element to press against the blade. A safety switch has a first end jutting out of the handle and a second end movably located in the handle and corresponding to the resilient plate. When the safety switch is moved toward the blade, the second end of the safety switch is inserted between the positioning element and the resilient plate to prevent the positioning element from swinging about an axis defined by its middle section.11-22-2012

The third plate has one side corresponding in position to the second plate and concavely provided with an engaging hole. When the blade is fully rotated out of the handle, the second end of the resilient stopper presses against one end of the blade and thereby keeps the blade fully rotated out of the handle. Thus, when a force applied to the blade is excessively large, the resilient stopper will not be shifted away from the position against the blade.11-22-2012
