One example of the invention relates to a method of testing in a voice over internet protocol (VOIP) network. At least one test script is obtained from the VOIP network at an enhanced terminal adapter. The enhanced terminal adapter is configured to couple at least one communication device to the VOIP network. The at least one test script is executed within a scripting framework of the enhanced terminal adapter to interact with at least one component coupled to the VOIP network. In some examples, a call from a subscriber is received via the telecommunication system. Descriptions of pre-recorded electronic content are played in the call. A selection of one or more items of the pre-recorded electronic content is received. An electronic greeting template is formed from the one or more items of the pre-recorded electronic content. The electronic greeting template is sent towards the subscriber via the telecommunication system, where the subscriber may then further manage the electronic greeting template as desired.	01-01-2009
