20130118223GRID RUNNER CAP ANCHORING LANCE - An elongated grid runner, and its manufacture, comprising a pair of overlying metal strips roll-formed together into a shape suitable for use in a rectangular grid to support ceiling panels, one of said strips serving as a visible cap for concealing the other strip forming the main body of the grid runner when the grid member is employed in a completed ceiling, the strips being lanced at each end of the grid runner to lock the cap strip on the main body strip whereby when the overlying strips are simultaneously cut to a finish length prior to finish roll-forming, the ends of the strip are maintained in substantially overlying end-to-end registration where the cap is visible in a finished ceiling.05-16-2013
20130111963GRID RUNNER - A roll-formed grid runner comprising a sheet metal strip folded into an upper hollow single wall reinforcing bulb, a double wall web below the bulb, a channel extending laterally from both sides of a lower end of the web to a bend and upwardly from the bend to a panel supporting elevation, the bend on each side of the web existing at a longitudinally extending score line where a thickness of the strip is locally reduced.05-09-2013
20130081554DISTRIBUTION OF STARCH IN COMPOSITION OF BUILDING PRODUCTS - Building panels such as ceiling tiles have compositions including starch as a binder and a coagulant for the starch. The building panels also can include a fibrous material and a filler. In one aspect, the starch is coagulated by the coagulant resulting in the starch being distributed substantially uniformly through a thickness of the building panels, whereby certain physical properties of the building panels and a wet-felting process for manufacturing the building panels are improved. The coagulant can comprise at least one aluminum salt. In the wet-felting process for manufacturing the ceiling tiles, a slurry comprising an aqueous dispersion of at least one fibrous material, at least one filler material, at least starch as a binder and a coagulant for the starch is delivered onto a foraminous wire frame. The slurry is dewatered to form a basemat and the basemat is dried to remove any residual moisture.04-04-2013
20130061550CROSS RUNNER CONNECTOR AND MAIN RUNNER RECEIVING HOLE - A cross runner connector receivable in a through runner hole that locks with an identical opposed connector and locks with the through runner hole with increased tensile strength, both locks being releasable without tools by manipulation of the associated cross runner.03-14-2013
20130023612USE OF ALDEHYDE SCAVENGERS IN INTERIOR BUILDING PRODUCTS - A coating for application to the surface of an interior building product comprises: a resin formulation such as a melamine formaldehyde resin characterized by its ability to strengthen the interior building product when applied as a coating to the building product; and an aldehyde scavenger selected from the group consisting of; tetraethylene pentamine, propionamide, caprolactam, ammonium hydroxide, sodium bisulfate, sodium metabisulfite, ammonium primary phosphate, ammonium secondary phosphate, a combination of ammonium primary phosphate and ammonium secondary phosphate, a combination of ammonium primary phosphate, ammonium secondary phosphate and a sulfite, a polyvinyl alcohol; adipic dihydrazide and a combination of a polyvinyl alcohol and adipic dihydrazide.01-24-2013
20120180420WALL BRACE SUPPORT FOR ACOUSTICAL CEILING TEE - A wall brace support for an acoustical ceiling tee having a bulb includes an elongated main portion having two ends; a wall attachment tab at one of the ends, the tab being operable to abut the wall and receive at least one fastener therethrough to fasten the tab to the wall; and an acoustical ceiling tee attachment structure at the other end, the structure being operable to receive at least one fastener therethrough to fasten the structure to the bulb at a location spaced away from the wall.07-19-2012
20120161058ACOUSTIC BUILDING MATERIAL EMPLOYING CHITOSAN - An acoustic building material and method for manufacture incorporates chitosan in an amount sufficient to achieve acceptable physical properties with a reduction in binder and to allow the postindustrial/postconsumer content of the building material to be increased. The chitosan also enhances the dewatering of the building material.06-28-2012
