20120070848TUMOR CELL-DERIVED MICROVESICLES - The present invention relates to a method for diagnosis of cancer and for monitoring the progression of cancer and/or the therapeutic efficacy of an anti-cancer treatment in a sample of a subject by detecting oncogenic proteins in microvesicles, and to the use of an agent blocking exchange of microvesicles for treating cancer.03-22-2012
20110298439DIGITALLY CONTROLLED INTEGRATED DC-DC CONVERTER WITH TRANSIENT SUPPRESSION - A fully integrated DC-DC converter utilizes digitally controlled dual output stages to achieve fast load transient recovery is presented. The DC-DC converter includes a main converter output stage connected in parallel with an auxiliary output stage. The main output stage is responsible for steady-state operation and is designed to achieve high conversion efficiency using large inductor and power transistors with low on-resistance. The auxiliary stage is responsible for transient suppression and is only active when a load transient occurs. The auxiliary output stage performs well with inductor and power transistors much smaller than those of the main switching stage and thus achieves well balanced power conversion efficiency and dynamic performance with a much smaller area penalty than previously described dual-output-stage converters.12-08-2011
20110027885SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MICROMANIPULATING SAMPLES - A system and method for micromanipulating samples are described to perform automatic, reliable, and high-throughput sample microinjection of foreign genetic materials, proteins, and other molecules, as well as drawing genetic materials, proteins, and other molecules from the sample. The system and method overcome the problems inherent in traditional manual micromanipulation that is characterized by poor reproducibility, human fatigue, and low throughput. The present invention is particularly suited for adherent cell microinjection but can be readily extended to aspiration, isolation, and electrophysiological measurements of microorganisms, unicellular organisms, or cells.02-03-2011

20090019081INTEGRATING DATA FROM MAPS ON THE WORLD-WIDE WEB - A method for integrating digital maps, each containing a plurality of geographical objects. A three-step integration process is presented. First, geographical objects are retrieved from maps on the Web. Secondly, pairs of objects that represent the same real-world entity, in different maps, are discovered and the information about them is combined. Finally, selected objects are presented to the user. The proposed process is efficient, accurate (i.e., the discovery of corresponding objects has high recall and precision) and it can be applied to any pair of digital maps, without requiring the existence of specific attributes.01-15-2009
