20110121496SHAPE MANIPULATION OF NANOSTRUCTURES - A method for reshaping a nanostructure. The method includes applying a vector force to the nanostructure to obtain a desired shape and passing current through the nanostructure thereby reshaping the nanostructure to a reshaped geometry different from the initial shape. The nanostructure may additionally be cleaned.05-26-2011
20110060563Carbonaceous Chemistry for Continuum Modeling - A system and method of calculating fuel gasifier reactions is disclosed. The method and system model combustion/gasification within a gasifier by using an Eulerian-Eulerian flow field. The flow field is updated as the combustion/gasification progresses to account for the use of fuel as well as other reactions, mass transferred, and heat that occur within the gasifier during the combustion/gasification reactions.03-10-2011
20110010071SYSTEM FOR PARTICULATE MATTER SENSOR SIGNAL PROCESSING - A system having a particulate matter sensor in an exhaust stream of an engine upstream from a particulate filter and another such sensor downstream from the filter. There may also be an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) control on the engine. The amount of particulate matter in or loading of the filter may be determined by the upstream filter. The working condition of the filter may be determined by the downstream sensor. The filter may have a heater and control for providing operational and particulate matter burn-off temperatures to the filter. A processor may be connected to the sensors, the EGR control and the filter heater control.01-13-2011
20100102811NMR, MRI, and Spectroscopic MRI in Inhomogeneous Fields - A method for locally creating effectively homogeneous or “clean” magnetic field gradients (of high uniformity) for imaging (with NMR, MRI, or spectroscopic MRI) both in in-situ and ex-situ systems with high degrees of inhomogeneous field strength. The method of imaging comprises: a) providing a functional approximation of an inhomogeneous static magnetic field strength B04-29-2010
