20150350947 | MEDIA STREAMING WITH HIGH RATE AVAILABILITY - A system and method for media streaming in a scenario where very high bitrate wireless service is available within a macro cell through small cells. When a mobile device is in a small cell, a base station may download the multimedia content onto the mobile device at the high bitrate instead of streaming the content at a low bitrate. The mobile device cannot misuse the content made available through the download because its ability to de-scramble the downloaded information is made time dependent by a two-stage scrambling process at the base station that keeps the information scrambled until it is ready to be consumed. The base station withholds from the mobile device information related to de-scrambling of the received content until the appropriate time. Such withheld information includes time-varying decryption keys, which control the timing of decryption and are supplied to the mobile device in a temporally sequential manner. | 12-03-2015 |
20150350932 | RADIO LINK FAILURE (RLF) REPORTING - A method and network node for handling Radio Link Failure (RLF) Reports in a radio access network that utilizes different Radio Access Technologies (RATs) in different areas. When the UE later reconnects to a third AN that utilizes the first RAT, the UE sends the RLF Report to the third AN. When the third AN does not have a connection to the first AN, the third AN determines whether receiving the RLF Report has caused a threshold value to be exceeded. 20150334006 | METHOD TO DO FAST TRAFFIC SWITCHOVER BASED ON SERVER LAYER STATUS - A method and apparatus perform fast traffic switchover based on server layer status. To do fast traffic switchover when there is server layer failure, each forwarding entry in a forwarding table contains an index to server layer status table, wherein traffic is associated to a service layer based on the physical communication resources used by the primary path. The server layer status table contains status code for all instances of server layers in the system. One status code indicates the server layer status is normal, and primary paths may be used to carry client layer traffic. Another status code indicates abnormal condition on the server layer, and that primary paths cannot be used to carry client layer traffic. When the forwarding entry is used to forward incoming packets, the server layer status code is checked. If the status code indicates normal functionality, the failover object is checked to route the traffic on either the primary or secondary path. If the status code indicates the server layer is non-functional, the forwarding entry corresponding to the secondary path is used to forward incoming packets. When a failure is detected, or a known failure is cured, the server layer status table is updated. | 11-19-2015 |
