20100282467Sulfonated internal olefin surfactant for enhanced oil recovery - A process for recovering oil from an oil-bearing formation comprises introducing into said formation an aqueous composition comprising at least one sulfonated derivative of one or more internal olefins, said internal olefins being characterized by having low amounts of tri-substitution on the olefin bond, said sulfonated derivative being obtained by sulfonating a composition comprising internal olefins of the formula:11-11-2010
20100016163Adjuvant and dispersant formulations for pesticidal applications - There is provided is an adjuvant/dispersant for pesticide formulations (among other formulated uses) comprising at least one dialkyl alkanolamine such as dimethyl ethanolamine, at least one derivative thereof, or a combination thereof. Pesticide compositions comprising a pesticide, such as glyphosate, and the adjuvant/dispersant of the present technology and methods for enhancing the effectiveness of the pesticide, such as glyphosate, in an aqueous composition through the addition of the adjuvant/dispersant of the present technology are also disclosed. Solid pesticidal formulations comprising a pesticidal active ingredient and the adjuvant/dispersant of the present technology are also provided.01-21-2010
20090318294Ultra-high loading glyphosate concentrate - This invention relates to a storage stable, aqueous, herbicidal formulation containing an ultra-high concentration of glyphosate in the isopropylamine, potassium or mixed salt form in combination with a surfactant system, to a method of making the formulation, and to a method of treating unwanted vegetation employing the formulation. The surfactant system employed in the concentrate comprises dialkoxylated alkylamine, water miscible solubilizer and amine oxide. The surfactant system unexpectedly permits the formulation of storage stable, ultra-high loaded aqueous glyphosate salt concentrates possessing high or no cloud points.12-24-2009
20090312447COMPATIBILIZING SURFACTANTS FOR POLYURETHANE POLYOLS AND RESINS - A resin blend composition is provided containing a polyol, an ethoxylate propoxylate surfactant initiated by a short chain compound, and a hydrocarbon blowing agent. The solubility and/or compatibility of the hydrocarbon carbon blowing agent in the polyol is increased and the phase stability of the resin blend composition is improved by the ethoxylate propoxylate surfactant. The resin blend is suitable for reaction with polyfunctional organic isocyanates to make cellular polyurethane and polyisocyanurate foams.12-17-2009
20090304618ACYL LACTYLATE COMPOSITIONS FOR RINSE-OUT AND LEAVE-ON APPLICATIONS FOR SKIN AND HAIR - The presently described technology relates to acyl lactylate containing compositions having improved stability and multifunctional performance characteristics (e.g., pH stability, phase stability, hydrolytic stability (e.g., aqueous stability), cleansing, foaming, skin softness and skin moisturization) that may be utilized in rinse-out and leave-on skin and hair applications. The acyl lactylate compositions of the present technology may be delivered to the skin or hair via a conventional delivery vehicle such as a body wash, a shampoo, a bubble bath, a skin cream, or a lotion.12-10-2009
20090247657Thermal stability of polyurethane-modified polyisocyanurate foam - A polyurethane-modified polyisocyanurate (PU-PIR) foam exhibiting improved thermal stability is provided. The foam has incorporated therein a high molecular weight ammonium polyphosphate (APP). APP is employed as a partial or complete substitute for flame retardants conventionally employed in PU-PIR foams. The foams of the invention exhibit excellent and improved thermal stability characteristics as compared to foams to which no APP has been added.10-01-2009
20090188055SULFONATED ESTOLIDES AND OTHER DERIVATIVES OF FATTY ACIDS, METHODS OF MAKING THEM, AND COMPOSITIONS AND PROCESSES EMPLOYING THEM - Sulfo-estolides and methods of making them are described. Useful methods include acid side bleaching, partial hydrogenation of the fatty acid, pretreatment of the fatty acid to provide color inhibition, acid side hydrolysis of the sulfo-estolides, or conversion of SHP to an essentially fully hydrolyzed product (HSHP) or a partially hydrolyzed product (PHSHP). Detergent formulations, such as laundry detergents, softeners, and other materials, containing any of these materials are disclosed. Laundry methods employing these formulations are also disclosed. These formulations are useful as laundry detergents and can be biodegradable, heavy duty liquids, 2× or 3× and up to 6× concentrates, low foaming, and/or effective in a high efficiency washing machine. Methods for laundering fabrics with the compositions are also disclosed.07-30-2009
20090131701Process for Enzymatic Production of Triglycerides - A process for enzymatic production of glyceride compositions, specifically industrially practicable production of triglycerides, including conjugated linoleic and linolenic acid triglycerides, and the compositions produced by such process. An enzymatic reaction zone is first utilized, in which a mixture of glycerol and fatty acids or fatty acid derivatives is reacted in the presence of an enzymatic catalyst to form 1,3 diglycerides. The mixture is then circulated through a second thermal rearrangement zone, maintained at a higher temperature, to promote rearrangement of the 1,3 diglycerides to 1,2 diglycerides. Triglycerides are produced by re-circulating the mixture through the enzymatic production zone.05-21-2009
