The bracing system comprises a frame configured to conform to the individual's body and configured to contact the individual such that it can provide support to the joint. The frame has at least two portions configured to connect at least a first part of the individual's body to a second part of the individual's body. The bracing system further comprises a cable interconnected to the frame, and an adjustment mechanism for adjusting the tightness level of the cable. In one alternate embodiment, the orthopedic bracing system comprises a frame, a cable interconnected to the frame, an adjustment mechanism, two first flexible straps, each interconnected to the frame by means of two anchor pins, wherein each anchor pin is movably connected to the frame.
