The TVIU sends web-pages from the internet to the client device. The user can select a web page comprising digital content received from the TVIU and indicate to the TVIU to present the same content on a television. The client device can be disconnected from the TVIU to perform other activities and subsequently reconnected to the TVIU to resume control of the content presented on the television. A TVIU can be controlled using multiple client devices and a single client device can control multiple TVIUs.
