20120072027METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LOW-VOLUME ANALYZER WITH FIXED AND VARIABLE INDEXING - A sample analyzer with fixed and variable indexing that is structured and arranged to align reaction vessels, e.g., cuvettes, at a pre-determined, fixed point while maintaining a positional sequence using variable indexing. Variable indexing allows cuvettes to be presented to multiple, fixed point resources at multiple occasions in a systematic progression in a highly efficient manner. The presentation of cuvettes to multiple, fixed point resources at multiple times is superior to existing indexing.03-22-2012
20110314907CONTACTLESS FILLING LEVEL MEASUREMENT OF LIQUIDS - The invention relates to a device and a method for the contactless capacitive filling level measurement of a filling medium in a container, the device having a plurality of measurement electrodes and at least one reference electrode.12-29-2011
20110229414Contrast Agents For Detecting Protease Activity By Means Of Hyperpolarization And For Stratifying Patients - A contrast agent is disclosed for imaging methods. In at least one embodiment the contrast agent includes a construct including i) at least two copies of a substrate for at least one tumor-specific protease, and ii) at least one linker having at least one recognition site for at least one tumor-specific protease, wherein a hyperpolarization site is located at the N and/or C terminus of the substrate, and wherein the linker is configured such that the hydrophobic ends of the substrate interact and form a central core by means of noncovalent interactions with the lipophilic residues, and the contrast agent together with a parahydrogen metal template for use in an imaging method for diagnosing a tumor. At least one embodiment of the invention further relates to a method for imaging a tumor tissue, wherein the above-described contrast agent accumulated in a tumor tissue is imaged using a suitable imaging method after hyperpolarization by way of contact with a parahydrogen metal template, and also to a method for imaging a tumor tissue in a patient, wherein a) a contrast agent as described above is administered to a patient, b) a parahydrogen metal template is administered to the patient, and c) the presence of a tumor is depicted using an imaging method.09-22-2011
20110150758TRACKING OF BONE MARROW CELLS FOR METASTASIS SCREENING - At least one embodiment of the invention relates to bone marrow precursor cells or bone marrow cells of a patient, the cells labeled with at least one contrast agent suitable for an imaging method, for use in an imaging method for diagnosing a metastasizing cancer, wherein the local accumulation of the labeled precursor cells or bone marrow cells indicates the presence of a metastasizing tumor growth. At least one embodiment also relates to a method for imaging a metastasizing tumor tissue in a patient, wherein a) bone marrow precursor cells or bone marrow cells are extracted from a patient, b) these precursor cells or bone marrow cells are labeled with at least one contrast agent suitable for an imaging method, c) the precursor cells or bone marrow cells thus labeled are retransplanted or reinjected into the patient, and d) the presence of metastasizing tumor cells is depicted with an imaging method. At least one embodiment also relates a method for imaging a metastasizing tumor tissue, wherein a suitable imaging method is used to image bone marrow precursor cells and/or bone marrow cells that are accumulated in a metastasizing tumor tissue and labeled with at least one contrast agent suitable for an imaging method.06-23-2011
20110124001Compositions For Use In Detection Of Multiple Analytes - Methods, compositions and kits are disclosed. The methods are directed to determining the presence or relative amounts of two or more components in a medium. A combination is provided comprising a medium suspected of containing the components, at least two sensitizer reagents and at least one reactive reagent activatable by singlet oxygen. The sensitizer reagents are capable of generating singlet oxygen and are distinguishable by wavelength of sensitization. The combination of sensitizer reagents and reactive reagents allows differential detection of the components. The sensitizer reagents are differentially activated. The amount of signal generated as a result of the activation of said reactive reagent is determined wherein the amount thereof is related to the amount of each of the components in the medium.05-26-2011
20100086953Blood Coagulation Assays - The invention relates to methods for determining the activity of a proteolytic coagulation factor of the blood coagulation cascade in a body fluid such as whole blood or plasma. A combination is provided in a reaction mixture. The combination comprises the sample and an activation agent for activating a proteolytic coagulation factor of the blood coagulation cascade or for activating the blood coagulation cascade. The effect of the activating on a reagent system comprising a cleavable moiety is evaluated. The cleavable moiety is or becomes bound to a chemiluminescent agent or a sensitizer agent or both. The chemiluminescent agent and the sensitizer agent are related in that, when in close proximity, energization of the sensitizer agent results in energization of the chemiluminescent agent. The effect of the activating is related to the activity of a proteolytic coagulation factor of the blood coagulation cascade wherein the effect is the extent of cleavage of the cleavable moiety.04-08-2010
