20120044834Mechanism for Automatic Network Formation and Medium Access Coordination - The invention provides a set of mechanisms by which a wireless mobile mesh node equipped with a directional antenna may self form and self adapt its steady-state communications schedule. A link establishment handshake is carried out over an ongoing subtemplate-based discovery scan. During time not reserved for steady-state communications with previously discovered neighbors, nodes continue to search for an establish links with new neighbors. Initial and subsequent bandwidth allocation protocols may be utilized to allow peer nodes to coordinate communication opportunities between the peer nodes without impacting or having knowledge about reservations for communications with other peers. The link establishment and initial bandwidth allocation protocols may be piggy-backed for readily establishing an initial steady-state schedule with a peer upon link establishment without impact on previous steady state reservations by other nodes or on ongoing link establishment attempts elsewhere.02-23-2012

20110197280Network Managed Antivirus Appliance - Data can be scanned using a network managed appliance. The network managed appliance may integrate commercial hardware elements connected through a basic or simplified operating system environment expressly developed for the appliance, thus being more malware resistant and less vulnerable to attacks from the scanned data or other sources. The network managed appliance may be a self-contained apparatus with an integrated chassis, designed and configured as “single-purpose” device. Such appliances may be connected to an appliance management network including central management servers in communication with appliances in remote locations. The central management servers may ensure that scanning software and the definitions lists for each of the appliances are current and match an enterprise-approved configuration.08-11-2011
20110028774Hypernucleophilic Catalysts For Detoxification Of Chemical Threat Agents - A polymeric hypernucleophilic catalyst is effective for hydrolytic destruction of chemical threat agents under mild conditions, e.g., near neutral pH and at ambient temperatures. The polymeric hypernucleophilic catalysts are particularly useful to affect rapid destruction of chemical threat agents on sensitive surfaces such as paint, metal, rubber, plastic, fabric, wood, and skin. Catalyst formulations such as creams, lotions, sprays, foams, powders, or gels, and articles such as filters, wipes, membranes, yarns, fabrics, and articles of clothing, may be used for detoxification of or prophylactic protection against chemical threat agents.02-03-2011
20100289724System and Method for Video Image Registration in a Heads Up Display - A system and method for aligning video images with an underlying visual field are provided. A video camera is coupled with a heads up display, and a computer positions images from the video camera on the heads up display based on the relative orientations of the camera and the display. As the video camera moves with respect to the display, the images are repositioned within the heads up display. The video image, which may, for example, come from a weapon sight, is aligned within the heads up display so that an observer can easily view the camera image without having to shift focus from the larger scene.11-18-2010
20100223425Monitoring Module - A system and associated method for monitoring the execution of software on one or more computers by receiving traffic from within the monitored computer(s). The monitoring may take place passively, such that the operation of the monitored computer or computers is completely unaffected by the monitoring. More intensive monitoring, such as maintenance of a shadow copy of the RAM of the monitored computer, may be initiated upon recognition of a pattern in the data received from the monitored computer. The execution of software on the monitored computer may be halted by the monitoring module. The monitoring module may also read from or write to the memories of the monitored computer.09-02-2010
20100176238STABILITY MULTIPLEXED AUTOPILOT - Rolling airframe projectile guidance and stability systems are disclosed. Flight control surfaces, such as canards and/or tail fins are attached to a projectile airframe that is designed to roll during flight. Stepper motors are attached to the flight control surfaces and move the flight control surfaces in discrete increments. A control system generates signals that control the flight control surfaces. The control system may include a neural network that is trained to generate control signals in response to received inputs.07-15-2010
20100007580Computer Control with Heads-Up Display - A method, computer-readable medium and apparatus are described for providing a user interface control for use with a manipulable object, such as a weapon. As the object is moved, images from a video camera are projected into a heads-up display. A user of the object may activate a user interface control by pressing a button on the object, causing an image of a user interface control to be projected into the heads-up display. Movement of the object may cause a cursor to be moved across the heads-up display, allowing the user to select user interface features without removing hands from the object. Pressing a button may cause a mouse click command to be generated, allowing the user to type or perform other functions.01-14-2010
20090312323COMPOUNDS FOR THE TREATMENT OF SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY AND OTHER USES - Compounds of Formula (I) or (II) useful for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy or other uses, as well as methods of using such compounds to increase SMN expression, increase EAAT2 expression, or increase the expression of a nucleic acid that encodes a translational stop codon introduced by mutation or frameshift.12-17-2009
20090302173AUTOMATIC FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEMS - Automatic flight control systems and methods are disclosed. Low duty cycle motors, such as trim actuators may be driven with pulse width modulation signals. The pulse width modulation signals are structured such that the duty cycles of the low duty cycle motors are not exceeded. The low duty cycle motors are attached to and move flight control surfaces to implement automatic flight control commands.12-10-2009
20090202719MICROWAVE-ATTENUATING COMPOSITE MATERIALS, METHODS FOR PREPARING THE SAME, INTERMEDIATES FOR PREPARING THE SAME, DEVICES CONTAINING THE SAME, METHODS OF PREPARING SUCH A DEVICE, AND METHODS OF ATTENTUATING MICROWAVES - The present invention provides microwave attenuating, filled composite materials which contain a polymer or ceramic matrix and metallic tubules and processes for making the same and devices which contain such materials.08-13-2009
20090059201Full-Field Light Detection and Ranging Imaging System - Apparatuses and methods determine positional information from a reflected optical signal for an object on a per pixel basis. A spread spectrum imaging system includes a transmitting module transmitting a transmitted optical signal that illuminates a target space and contains a transmitted pulse that is modulated with a first pseudo-noise (PN) code. The imaging system includes a receiving module that receives a reflected optical signal from an object. The reflected signal is processed by an optical array that detects a detected signal from the reflected optical signal, where the detected signal contains a plurality of pixels spanning a target space. When the determined PN code corresponds to the selected PN code, image information and the positional information is presented for the object. When different positional information is obtained for different pixels in the image, the imaging system may determine that different objects appear in the received image.03-05-2009
20080252483Radio frequency transponders embedded in surfaces - Objects containing radio frequency transponders, such as RFID tags, can be encoded with information and mixed with a substance. The mixed objects and substance can be applied to a surface such as a road, such that a vehicle traveling over the surface may later read encoded information stored in the transponders. In one variation, the objects may include spherical marbles that are mixed with asphalt and embedded in a road surface. An apparatus includes components arranged to receive multiple objects, encode transponders contained in the objects, and mix them with a substance such as asphalt or concrete. Objects may include spheres having helical antenna elements or antenna elements formed on an outer surface thereof. A vehicle may be configured with a reader and antennas arranged to read transponders embedded in a roadway surface.10-16-2008
20080204361System and Method for Video Image Registration and/or Providing Supplemental Data in a Heads Up Display - Video sources and inertial sensors are attached to a weapon and to goggles. A computer receives video images from the weapon- and goggles-mounted sources and inertial data from the sensors. The computer calculates a location for an image from the weapon-mounted source within an image from the goggles-mounted source using the inertial sensor data. The sensor-based location is checked (and possibly adjusted) based on a comparison of the images. A database contains information about real-world objects in a field of view of the goggles-mounted source, and is used to generate icons or other graphics concerning such objects.08-28-2008
